Associate Quality Assurance Manager
Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Quality Assurance Manager specializing in Navy/Marine Corps aviation at the Organizational-level operations on CH-53K aircraft located at Patuxent River, MD. This role is essential to supporting the repairs and inspection of test aircraft airframes and systems to ensure optimal aircraft readiness and operational capability for support of the flight and test schedule.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the site's entire Quality efforts for the CH-53K and YCH-53K.
  • Works with Government and Contractor Senior Management to maintain Quality Assurance and safety programs, including policies, processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensures Contract performance conforms to established standards and Government Agency guidelines.
  • Development of the site policies and procedures
  • Manages/Supervises contractor Aircraft Quality Control Inspectors and Inspection (Quality) Department including inspection requirements, trend analysis, technical order publication library, maintenance training programs, and functional check flight programs.
  • Train and mentor, all Collateral Duty Inspectors (CDI’s) and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representatives (CDQAR’s)
  • Prepares/Manages/Audits QA, Safety, and Hazardous material Programs required by government, service, and base regulations and instructions.
  • Provides timely responses and corrective actions to customer concerns and findings.
  • Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and disseminates safety-related bulletins, technical changes, and literature to worksite Personnel.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently in a team environment.

Shift: Day Shift, Monday – Friday, and as required for Night shift oversite on occasion

Job Requirements:
  • Prior service in a military or government aviation maintenance environment
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience performing responsibilities as a Quality Assurance Representative or equivalent
  • Proficiency in organizational-level maintenance procedures and processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical/business discipline or 6 additional years’ experience
  • Must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of quality management concepts, techniques, tools, and procedures
  • Must have completed the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS) (Optimized) Organizational Level Maintenance Activity (OMA) Naval Aviation Quality Assurance Administration Course (Course C-555-0046)
  • Throughout in-depth knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2 series
  • Knowledge of DCMAINST 8210.1_series
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration
  • Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one

Preferred:

  • Experienced and qualified on the CH53E/K aircraft
  • Served in a prior position as a Quality Assurance Chief at an O level Squadron
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent military certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed
  • Must be able to climb on ladders if needed
  • Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs
  • Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions
  • Position may require working in a confined workspace
  • Position may require use / exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents
  • Position is located in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment
  • FIT for Duty Physical is required
  • May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals
