Job Objective

The Aviation Maintenance Training Program Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining training material for Part 135 and Part 145 maintenance personnel using Federal Aviation Regulations and Metro Aviation, Inc. policies and procedures.


Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with Part 135 and Part 145 Maintenance Department leadership to develop and uphold maintenance training programs
  • Educate the Maintenance Training Instructors on material updates and provide guidance for effective delivery, strong presentation, training and facilitation skills
  • Collect feedback from Instructors and employees and use it to develop action plans and measure the success of the program
  • Oversee the daily operation, educational integrity, and procedural compliance of the Aviation Maintenance Technician Program
  • Ensure training materials are up to date, as needed
  • Present classroom and virtual training courses as needed
  • Develop and execute the On-the-Job Training program
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify Training Needs
  • Serve as an Instructor when class size or instructor absence necessitates
  • Ensure that the Maintenance Training Program operates in compliance with FAA regulations
  • Conduct meetings with Maintenance Training Instructors
  • Take an active role in the interviewing and hiring process for potential instructors
  • Ensure supplies and materials are purchased and in place for required training sessions
  • In partnership with the Safety Department, ensure compliance with OSHA and other workplace safety regulatory agencies


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Knowledge of training theory and methods of presentation
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR parts 43, 91, 135 and 145
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem solving
  • Ability to understand typical database systems, ultimately Learning Management Systems (LMS) or equivalent
  • Sound organizational skills that require follow-up and follow-through
  • High degree of attention and respect for time-sensitive responsibilities and obligations 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Passionate about providing dynamic and quality instruction

Education & Experience

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • FAA Part 135 and 145 maintenance training experience 
  • Airbus Helicopter experience 
  • Previous Helicopter / Fixed Wing Air Ambulance experience 
  • Previous experience working with customers in a support role 
  • Hands-on experience with EC145, EC135, and AS350 airframes 

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged sitting and computer work
  • Standing while presenting
  • Climbing aircraft stands and accessing aircraft interiors

Work Environment

  • Temperature-controlled office 
  • Outside non-air-conditioned environment
  • Aircraft hangar

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

  • Full-time
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Travel may be required
  • Workover may be necessary depending on the training schedule
