Provide first level supervision of Avionics Fabrication Leads and Technicians for interior completions of high-end VIP aircraft, as well as MRO tasks assigned. Ensure efficient level of work force utilization on daily basis, in support of department deliverables, aircraft delivery schedule, quality, and budget based upon the contractual specifications and the customer’s ultimate satisfaction. Interacts constantly with Design Engineering to improve Fabrication and Installation Methods for wire harnesses Off wing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Review weekly work plans with the Head of Fabrication to ensure accurate and complete understanding of tasks to accomplish, department deliverables, change orders, etc.
2.Support each aircraft project plan as directed by the Program Management Office.
3.Make necessary changes in the departments work schedule and goals to facilitate each aircraft project schedule and budget.
4.Make recommendations and changes to the Project plan to facilitate on time and on budget project.
5.Provide regular updates / status reports to the Head of Farbrication and the Program Management Office for each particular project.
6.Attend / support production meetings as required
7.Coordinate with the Leads to make necessary personnel changes, assignments, and/or shifts as needed to accommodate changes to the schedule, deliverables, and/or other aircraft needs.
8.Coordinate with other department Supervisors as needed to ensure smooth flow of work during the completion phases.
9.Supervise and train Leads and Technicians related to performance to plan, department deliverables, and overall aircraft schedule.
10.Identify and communicate any potential or known issues that may compromise deliverables or affect the completion schedule. Additionally, the supervisor will ensure that all technicians are trained to meet the VIP Quality level set by the company.
11.Verify accurate and timely shift turnovers.
12.Ensure leads and technicians utilize and reference accurate and updated procedures to include blueprints, engineering drawings, change orders, service bulletins, maintenance manuals, and any other similar documentation called out in the completion process.
13.Recommend and obtain necessary tooling and equipment required to maintain or increase productivity, reduce costs, and ensure safe working environment.
14.Create awareness and promote a safe working environment including correct operation of tools and equipment, aircraft systems, general housekeeping, hazardous materials, etc.
15.Take immediate corrective action as necessary to report and/or ensure the safety of all employees.
16.Ensure all work performed is of the highest technical knowledge and quality standards which are consistent with the Quality Assurance Plan, FAA, and other regulations.
17.Review and approve daily employee labor charging by work order and timecards.
18.Identify and recommend Head of Installation of training and development opportunities.
19.Ensure leads, senior technicians, and installers are conducting OJT for junior level employees.
20.Provide regular feedback to Head of Installation regarding employee performance, to include obtaining input from leads.
21.Recommend corrective or disciplinary action for low performers and acknowledge high performers on consistent basis.
22.Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:
1.High school diploma or GED.
2.Avionics certification and/or technical training.
3.8 years of progressive avionics experience and/or training in the business aviation industry or military with at least 3 years as lead.
4.Possess high degree of leadership abilities to build rapport and motivate team.
5.Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints.
6.Ability to read, write, and speak English.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1.Current and proven knowledge and expertise of avionics wiring, installation, components, and troubleshooting.
2.Must have strong knowledge in variety of Avionics systems and their operation plus the proven ability to troubleshoot routine to complex problems while training or assisting leads and/or technicians to develop their skills.
3.Must have broad, overall knowledge of other aircraft systems e.g. hydraulic, flight controls, etc. and major components.
4.Strong customer service skills.
5.Strong understanding of project hour allocation and management.
6.Take pro-active approach to mitigating delay, work stoppage, and quality issues on each project.
7.Knowledge of lean or efficiency techniques is a plus.
8.Be a champion of safe working environment.

10.Lead by example, create environment conducive to safety and continuous improvement opportunities.
11.Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
12.Working knowledge of computers and related software, preferably Microsoft Office Suite.
