Gulf Coast Avionics is a General Aviation industry leader in Avionics Sales, Service and Installation located at Lakeland Linder International Airport in Lakeland Florida. We currently have an immediate opening for Avionics Shop Manager. You can visit us during Sun ‘n Fun (April 2-7, 2019) in Hangar D Booth # D30-33.
 
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Overall Manager of Installation Department; ensuring workflow of avionics installations and/or equipment repairs are completed in approved quoted time frame. Willing to work with other Company Departments to insure quality customer service.
  • Oversees duties in compliance with applicable FAA regulations, company standard operating procedures, work instructions and customer sales order requirements. Tasks include but are not limited to:
                   • ICAs (Instructions for Continued Airworthiness)
                   • FMS (Flight Manual Supplement)
                   • 8130 & COC copies for customers
                   • Weight & Balance of aircraft
                   • Form FAA 337 – Major Repair & Alteration
                   • Log Book Entries
                   • STC copies
                   • Invoice Work Order Package
                   • Verification of Purchase Order for installation
                   • Maintain calibration program & records
                   • Maintain technician training records & training schedule
                   • Maintain & revise Repair Station Roster/Job Summaries
                   • Scheduling of Avionics Installations
  • Ensuring complete Customer Satisfaction and a successful, timely execution of aircraft installations
  • The position uses independent judgment, applies strong and positive interpersonal interaction.
  • Handles inquiries, problem resolution, order entry, credit issues and Aircraft On Ground (AOG) support.
  • Quotes price and availability of repairs, overhauls, customer updates, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring that purchase order requirements, including delivery schedules, are accomplished.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements innovative process improvements.
  • Assists with customer relationships beyond current business activities by providing quality customer service.
  • Must accept ownership and accountability for team efforts.
  • Maintains current customer files and archive files and correspondence greater than one year old.
  • Work with or coordinate cross-functional departments in customer issue resolution.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with approved procedures established in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Responsible for working in a manner consistent with established safety rules and regulations and the use and maintenance of needed personal protective equipment; including, but not limited to safety glasses, etc.
  • Must be familiar with installation and repair of the following manufacturers: Garmin, Aspen, Avidyne. Bendix King, Honeywell 
Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years in Management Position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Acts with customer expectations and requirements in mind
  • Collaborates and works well in team-based environments
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen test; Subject to random drug & alcohol testing
  • Valid Driver’s License
