Avionics Support Supervisor
To provide technical support to maintenance and various departments including maintenance control, maintenance station mechanics, Inventory control and maintenance records.



RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair the following aircraft avionics/electrical systems in accordance with FAA requirements, manufacturers specifications and company procedures:
o Automatic Flight Control
o Communications and Cockpit Voice Recording
o AC/DC generation and electrical interface
o Flight Data Recording, Instrumentation, Crew Alerting
o Navigation and Air Data
• Electrical interfaces with other systems
• Use and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Install and test aircraft avionics modifications.
• Ability to use specialized test equipment such as: pitot/static and air data, Nav. Testers (IFR4000 and IFR6000), TCAS, multimeters, milliohm meters, megohmmeters, ELT, and ULB testers
• Make appropriate entries on aircraft work forms and records.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous safety improvement.
• Maintain aircraft and maintenance facility in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
• Responsible for safeguarding and maintaining company assets.
• Maintain the highest level of personal training and readiness to perform assigned tasks.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist line stations troubleshoot and repair avionics systems.
• Perform limited aircraft ground handling.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the avionics manager.



QUALIFICATIONS:
• Airframe License (minimum)
• Avionics Course or equivalent military or commercial experience on Garmin, Honeywell, Collins, etc. type avionics systems.
• 4-year degree preferred, high school diploma minimum
• Valid Driver•s License. Must have a command of the English language, both written and verbal


SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal, with company personnel, vendors, customer and line technicians in order to accurately determine necessary course of action.
• Knowledge of appropriate safety requirements in order to coordinate aircraft repairs that contribute to safe and on time performance.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
• May be required to supervise other Technical Support personnel.


TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
• Documented training in Aircraft Maintenance.
• Avionics training is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
• Work typically performed in an office environment. However, due to work requirements, may require frequent travel which will involve exposure to noise, chemicals, adverse temperatures and other similar hazards.
