Morson are currently supporting the recruitment of a Bid Manager based at Devonport dockyard in Plymouth on a hybrid remote basis. We’re recruiting for one of our prestigious defence clients who provide a range of services including Planning, Engineering, ILS, Design Services and Digital Asset Management to UK MOD.

Due to increased growth within marine defence initiatives, they require a Bid Manger to support the generation of tenders, bids and proposals for both new and existing customers on a 9 month contract. The role requires a blend of bid management skills, experience of bidding processes and knowledge of regulatory frameworks across Defence.

• Manage the development and delivery of bids, proposals and tenders.
• Work in partnership with other internal resources, such that bid documentation accurately reflects the business proposition and delivery will be achievable to the agreed timescale and budget.
• Interpret customer requirements and ensure that bids and tenders meet these.
• Support the Senior Bid Manager to manage and deliver effective and compelling bid response documents.
• Ensure that bids and tenders are fully costed to accurately reflect operational and technical bid content.
• Support the wider team in bidding best practice, with preparation of all reviews so that all stakeholders are briefed appropriately.

• 2 years previous experience in a Bid management, Business Development or Proposals Coordination role, such that you can demonstrate understanding of bid processes.
• Understanding of the procurement process and regulations.
• Bid writing capability with an excellent grasp of English and Numeracy.
• Excellent communication skills in a bid environment.
• Experience of working with different seniority levels.
• Literate in Finance and Commercial aspects of managing delivery of bids.
• Degree Level or Equivalent in either an Engineering, Software Engineering, Business or English literature/language related discipline

• Knowledge of risk management
• Experience of small, medium and large-scale bids and proposals
• Defence or Engineering sector experience.
• APMP (Project and/or Proposals)
• Design skills including Adobe Creative Suite
