Role Introduction
Cathay Pacific is looking for a highly motivated Cargo Services Supervisor to oversee and drive operational excellence in Sydney. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Cathay Pacific’s cargo services operate at the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing compliance with safety regulations, leading service delivery initiatives, overseeing freighter performance, and optimising operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with international aviation, regulatory, and company safety standards.
- Oversee cargo safety issues, including handling dangerous goods and special products
- Implement and execute emergency response procedures and business continuity plans as required.
Service Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Sydney Cargo Servicing Plan, ensuring seamless cargo operations.
- Drive performance management with third-party vendors by setting and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure safe, efficient, and on-time cargo operations, maximising aircraft space utilisation and cargo load optimisation.
- Work closely stakeholders to align service delivery strategies and operational goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and quality checks, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with airport authorities, government agencies, and handling agents to facilitate smooth operations.
Oversight of Freighter Operations
- Monitor Freighter On-Time Performance, collaborating with all stakeholders to minimize delays and disruptions.
Efficiency & Process Improvement
- Effectively communicate Cathay Pacific Cargo Notices to internal teams and external vendors, ensuring policies are well understood and implemented.
- Optimise manpower planning by managing rosters and workforce allocation cost-effectively.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline cargo operations and enhance overall service quality.
- Act as a trainer and mentor for cargo team members, providing guidance and development opportunities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of operations experience, preferably with a customer service background
- Experience in freighter load control and ramp/loading operations (advantageous)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and planning abilities
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- A proven history of setting and achieving operational goals.
- Outstanding communication and people skills
