How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Co-op, Safety Management System (SMS) will be based in Atlanta, Georgia and will report to the Program Manager, SMS. This position supports Delta’s Corporate SMS and will gain hands-on experience managing program elements associated with the five components of Delta’s SMS (Safety Leadership, Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion) across the entire spectrum of operations. The successful candidate will be exposed to processes that allow a Part 121 global carrier to effectively assess and manage risk across a broad spectrum of operational activities. This position may require some travel. Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a Corporate SMS master calendar for tracking of all SMS activities including, but not limited to manual reviews/revisions, Safety Policy review/updates, training curriculum reviews, recurrent training, monthly/quarterly cross-divisional SMS meetingsFulfill logistical requirements for SMS or ASAP related activities, which include but are not limited to scheduling meetings or in-person training, coordinating speakers and attendees, taking and publishing meeting notes, and conducting post-meeting follow-upTrack SRM activity across the company to ensure quality and timeliness of SRM activityCollect, analyze, and present cross-divisional SMS data/trends to Corporate SMS leadershipActively participate in divisional and cross-divisional SRM to ensure all elements are addressed and documented in accordance with corporate SMS policy, including analysis of relevant data and tracking of action itemsSupport development and maintenance of reporting & presentation materials, including but not limited to Monthly Performance Reviews, Delta Safety Assurance Group, Safety Round Tables, Integrated Safety Round TableSupport the employee Hazard Reporting Program through tracking and distribution of reports

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institutionAt least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scaleMust be available to work on a full-time basis for 3 alternating semesters: Fall 2025, Summer 2026, and Spring 2027This position requires student to work for 3 alternating semesters. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semestersMust be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-opWorking as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation.
