Role Introduction
Reports To: General Manager Digital Experience
The primary purpose of this role is to foster a vibrant, inclusive, and connected internal community within the Digital Experience and Customer Lifestyle teams. The jobholder will be instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive Communications and Engagement strategy that ensures employee alignment and engagement across all lifestyle employee groups globally.
A significant focus of this role is on coaching and development, aimed at enhancing leadership skills, communication effectiveness, and team collaboration. By driving these initiatives, the jobholder will contribute to a supportive and cohesive work environment, ultimately influencing customer satisfaction and the achievement of business goals. This person will work closely with senior leadership to deliver important and compelling messages both within the Customer Lifestyle and for the broader Cathay community.
Key Responsibilities
Engagement
- Plan, organize, and execute internal events, including townhalls, team meetings, and informal gatherings to build a strong sense of community and engagement among employees.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop event agendas that align with organizational goals and address key issues or opportunities.
- Ensure all events are well-coordinated, effectively communicated, and inclusive of all team members.
Community Building
- Design and implement initiatives that foster a sense of belonging and collaboration within the team, encouraging cross-functional interaction and team bonding.
- Develop and maintain a calendar of informal community-building activities to enhance team morale and strengthen interpersonal relationships across the organization.
Communication Strategy
- Create and execute communication strategies to elevate the profile of the team within the organization, ensuring that key initiatives and achievements are highlighted and celebrated.
- Serve as a communication liaison between the team and other departments, ensuring that the team’s contributions are recognized and understood company-wide.
- Develop and manage internal communication channels, ensuring that all team members are informed, engaged, and aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
- Craft clear, concise, and compelling messaging for internal newsletters, updates, and announcements, ensuring consistency in tone and voice.
- Acts as liaison between our internal communications team and customer lifestyle
Coaching and Development
- Collaborate with People and Cathay Academy to identify training needs and opportunities for professional growth within the team.
- Develop tailored coaching programs to enhance leadership skills, communication effectiveness, and team collaboration.
- Provide personalized coaching sessions, workshops, and continuous feedback to ensure employees are aligned, engaged, and equipped with necessary skills.
- Implement coaching initiatives that focus on developing leadership capabilities within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Facilitate coaching sessions aimed at improving team dynamics and collaboration, ensuring that all team members can work effectively together.
- Use coaching techniques to help team members set measurable and achievable goals, enhance performance, improve communication, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish formal mentorship programs where experienced employees can guide less experienced team members.
Performance and Engagement:
- Monitor the effectiveness of team technical learning programs such as Reforge for Product Management and Continuous Discovery Habits.
- Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of community and engagement initiatives and provide regular reports to senior leadership on progress and outcomes.
- Leverage data and feedback to refine internal communication and engagement strategies, establishing continuous feedback loops for employee input.
- Spearhead engagement initiatives to improve employee alignment and experience, ultimately influencing customer satisfaction and achieving business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in communications or related discipline
- 7+ years’ relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Project management experience
- Technical depth developing tools and content across various digital communications channels including mobile, social, app, SharePoint, videography advantageous.
- Extensive experience in internal communications and community building.
- Strong background in coaching, ideally with relevant certifications.
- Proven ability to foster a supportive and cohesive work environment, driving overall employee satisfaction and performance.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands in a fast paced environment
