AirPro SAR Services is currently looking for a Configuration management specialist to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

 

AirPro is a joint venture between Airbus Defence and Space and PAL Aerospace, fully dedicated to the successful operation of Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft Replacement (FWSAR) programme. AirPro provides day to-day management of all ISS activities like engineering, logistics, maintenance, training, IT systems, infrastructure and materiel support throughout the product life cycle.

 

The focus of the role of Configuration management specialist will be on providing coordination of all configuration management (CM) issues and set baseline and continued airworthiness for Canada’s new fleet of C295 aircraft.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on the CM function including the Configuration Management System (CMS)
  • Establish and perform CM activities in accordance with Engineering and Configuration internal manuals
  • Coordinate with partners to establish and manage the Configuration Control Program for the aircraft Weapon System (WS), including Configuration Identification and Configuration Change activities:
    1. Support development and progressing of all Engineering Change Proposals (ECP)
    2. Ensure accuracy of revised Configuration/Master data
    3. Coordinate with other internal support systems to evaluate and incorporate configuration changes across the aircraft Weapon System
    4. Lead CM meetings with internal stakeholders including internal control meetings relating to CM
  • Responsible for execution and oversight of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) activities including:
    1. Control and update aircraft configurations (allowed and as maintained) within the Configuration Management System (CMS).
    2. Introduce change vehicles to the Maintenance Management System and manage their implementation
    3. Control and update of the CSA register
    4. Monitoring validity of Airworthiness activities
  • Support other internal support system leads as required
  • Coordinate CM activities with all internal partners, external partners, and our client
  • Maintain direct liaison with partner CM specialists
  • Other Duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field is required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the aerospace industry
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a configuration management role
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data management is preferred
  • Previous experience working with DND or familiarity with DND programs will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders both in person and virtually
  • High level of autonomy and proven self-starter that takes initiative
  • Solutions oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain secret level security clearance requirements
  • Must be able to travel within Canada and internationally as required
