Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a market leading defence organisation to recruit a Cost Manager for an initial contract until the end of October 2024 (An extension is expected). There is a rate of 50 - 80 Umbrella Per hour on offer for the successful candidate. The role would involve a hybrid working arrangement with the successful candidate based at home though required in the office as and when business requires.

Experience
You’ll need to have proven experience in a similar role with the gravitas to lead from the front.
We would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
• Significant experience of project estimating and cost management / control techniques and approaches, including estimating, forecasting, performance reporting (i.e. EVM) and quantitative risk analysis etc.
• Experience of delivering/leading estimating and cost management and control within customer facing projects and programmes for large and technically complex equipment or system delivery contracts.
• Experience of using, or working alongside, related software tools such as MSP, P6, Active Risk Manager, RiskHive, Deltec Cobra, Safran or Primavera Risk Analyser etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interact successfully at all levels.
• Experience of implementing / working within project cost & estimating related governance frameworks that align to the Association for Project Management
• Experience of using ERP systems, including IFS (or similar) is desirable.
Lastly, you’ll need to be able to deploy good communication and influencing skills as you’ll work closely with many internal and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies.
