Right now we are looking for a Craft 2 Supervisor in our Electrical Shop to join our teams working aboard ship vessels and in the shop.

Candidates selected for this position are expected to work the time required to accomplish the responsibilities of this position (more than 40 hours including weekends). This position is eligible for Extended Work Time Compensation (EWTC) for hours worked in excess of 45 weekly.

In this role, you will:
Oversee daily work in your assigned shop.
Be responsible for assigning and monitoring the completion of work, as well as providing technical assistance, and generally managing the supervision and workforce within the Shop.
Develop and/or reviewing project schedules and budgets during the planning phase.
Allocating personnel and resources to efficiently support all contracts (including shift work).
Oversee and monitor schedule performance, including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, investigation of late activities, project supervision, and the development of practical solutions.
Monitor and evaluate project budget performance, including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, development of productivity enhancements and investigation of over-budget items.
Perform personnel related functions including, but not limited to, the supervision of employees, performance management, workforce reductions, promotions, demotions and discipline.
Ensure that employees understand and adhere to Company policies.
Train and motivate employees in the areas of technical knowledge, safety, environmental and communication.
Ensure that requirements of the labor agreement are satisfied.
Work a variety of shifts (1st shift 7:15 am to 4:00 pm, 2nd shift 4:00 pm to 12:30 am, 3rd shift 11:45 pm – 7:45 am)


Job Requirements:
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the trade.
Must have a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
Demonstrated technical knowledge in the relevant trade.
Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, supervise, and direct the work of other employees in the relevant trade or industry.
Proficient computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office programs and similar software.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Physical requirements of this role include:
Must be able to wear appropriate protective gear.
Must be able to physically perform essential job duties with or without accommodations.
Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces and have the ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes
Skills
Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, supervise, and direct the work of other employees in the relevant trade or industry.
Ability to use discretion and judgment in making operations and personnel decisions
Must be familiar with the following:.
  • US Navy tagout program TUM (Tagout user’s Manual)
  • OPNAV 5100 series
  • NIMB Navy Installation and Maintenance Book (NAVSEA SE000-00EIM-110)
  • UAW Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) outline various US Navy Quality Requirements
  • A General understanding and Working knowledge of the ship 60 Hz and 400 HZ electrical distribution system (Switchboards, Load centers and Power Panels). Also, the prime mover the drive the generator the produce electrical. (Steam, Gas Turbine and Diesel)
  • A General understanding and working knowledge of OHMs Law formula and calculations.
  • A General understanding and working knowledge of electronics operation and solid-state devices. (Resistor, Capacitors, Transformers)
  • NAVSEA Standard Items 009-17
  • NAVSEA S0300-At-GTP-101/ESL Standard Electrical Symbol List
  • NAVSEA 0910-LP-432-3200 Electrical Information Guide


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Demonstrate the ability to plan, schedule, supervise, and direct the work of other employees in the relevant trade or industry
Ability to use discretion and judgment in making operations and personnel decisions.
Proficient computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office programs and similar software.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
Knowledge of NAVSEA standards as they pertain to the trade.
Knowledge of Earned Value Management System and able to interpret information through reporting.
Experience with production planning and reporting.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $90373 - $153634

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
