WLSS CLS Deputy Program Manager
The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for the implementation, oversight and execution of Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for the Mi-17 Rotary Wing operations at multiple forward based/OCONUS locations. Primary duty is to support the PM and act on his/her behalf as directed. The DPM is responsible for personnel management and logistics, maintenance, equipment and materials needed to conduct day to day operations. He/she directly oversees management personnel in support of overall program objectives and requirements.
•Reports to WLSS CLS Program Manager
•Assists the PM with direction of the PMO staff in providing the necessary administrative and management expertise for effective program control and reporting.
•The senior level manager that assists and advises the PM, managing the day-to-day activities to ensure programs and projects meet organizational goals and requirements
•Implements and provides guidance related to processes and policies, oversees the work of project management staff and prioritizes projects and programs.
•Demonstrated competence in project management and technical competence in discipline field(s) and knowledge of industry policies and practices.
•Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, cost and schedule estimating, systems disciplines, engineering specifications and commercial practices relating to weapon systems procurement and production.
•The DPM shall be knowledgeable of overall organization, direction, and requirements of the contract efforts.
Experience and Abilities
•10 – 12 years of experience in operational leadership/management roles is required.
•Prior service military experience highly desirable
•Rotary and/or Fixed Wing pilot preferred with strong background in the planning and implementation of aviation-related ground and air maintenance programs.
•Strong team leadership and project management skills.
•Proactive, results driven, and a keen sense of urgency.
•Experience integrating, working with, and briefing members of the US military/government, US Embassy and international government/military officials.
•Must be able to obtain a passport for OCONUS travel requirements.
•Must be able to pass/qualify for all CENTCOM CRC medical and training requirements
•A Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required
•Master’s Degree in a relevant field is highly desired
•Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and hold TS clearance.
•Must be able to pass civil and criminal background checks
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
•Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
•Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
•Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
