Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems Sector is looking for a Director of Programs 2 as the site leader at Warsaw, Poland.  

  • Responsible for advancement of international team and business growth related to the Global Battle Management and Readiness (GBMR) division.  Support GBMR new business activities targeting increasing scope and content on existing programs, as well as identifying new opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Serve as the site leader for the Warsaw, Poland location, ensuring site excellence, supporting new program start-up and participating in existing program reviews. 
  • Act as the primary facilitator with internal and external organizations (US and PL) related to GBMR business pursuits and in collaboration with the Country Lead Executive.
  • Lead development of the Annual Operating Plan and development of new business objectives and aligned to the country strategy published by the country lead executive.
  • Build relationships across internal and external organizational boundaries to ensure success in meeting AOP business and operational goals / objectives; the successful candidate will operate in collaboration and aligned with the country lead executive in support of the business.
  • Provide indirect leadership to program managers within the division, proactively strengthening the operating unit through program management standards, business systems and tools.  Responsible for international customer satisfaction as related to program capture and execution.
  • Maintain current and actionable market-customer-pursuit intelligence that supports the business unit objectives.  Provide leadership to Proposal/Capture mangers for competitive offerings.
  • Provide day-to-day people leadership of a diverse team and creates an environment that accelerates development of talent and drives continuous improvement.
  • Actively participates in employee engagement activities including team leadership.
  • This position will be a long-term expatriate opportunity. This position will include Flight Arrangement(s), Household Good Shipment, HOLA, COLA and other incentives for working this assignment overseas.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Program Management, Engineering Management and or Operations Management.  Strong Program management discipline required. Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with international business and pursuits, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS)
  • Proven track record of developing program growth strategy and developing customer relationships, pursuit capture, and shaping requirements.
  • Ability to achieve results, exceptional leadership skills, effective and timely decision making, negotiation skills, business acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with implementation and execution of process standards and training focused on programs, business development, and risk management identification and mitigation.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the secret level.
  • Ability to live internationally in Poland and travel up to 25

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent understanding of security, defense and industrial landscape in Central Europe
  • Demonstrated success in communicating foreign customer requirements, schedules, and procedures to engineering, proposal and capture teams
  • Experience in developing new international business opportunities through long term strategic planning
  • Experience executing OCONUS defense trade shows, representing defense related product portfolio
  • Experience as the senior leader of a site.
  • Previous experience in leading in OCONUS environment
  • Proven experience with business culture in Poland and knowledge of relevant Polish regulations (Code for Commercial Companies, Labor Law, and Defense Procurement regulations)
  • Understanding of Poland’s IAMD modernization plans (Wisła Phase I/II, NAREW, SONA, other missile defense programs)
  • Experience interfacing with Ministry of National Defense of Poland
  • Proven experience in creating company procedures to align corporate requirements with local business customs and legal environment in Poland
  • Fluent in both English and Polish language
  • Active secret clearance
Salary Range: $228,600 - $343,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
