Responsibilities
Position Summary
Maintains all maintenance compliance established by the company and federal regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all standards established by the company.
- Acts as a liaison with relevant external entities.
- Directs the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification of aircraft, components, and related equipment.
- Reviews maintenance performance against established procedures and standards.
- Initiates and develops projects to improve performance of equipment and enable better performance of maintenance.
- Complies with applicable company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Initiates and develops recommended revisions to the Maintenance Operations Manual.
- Aids in developing required training programs for the maintenance personnel. Ensures maintenance personnel are properly trained.
- Responsible for the overall strategic planning and coordination of MTX training/ development activities and programs for PSA Airlines.
- Evaluates training requirements and identifies specific training solutions to support our operations teams with MTX industry leading training.
- Recommends to the VP of Maintenance the number and types of employees to staff the maintenance production unit.
- Directs the receiving, storing, and distributing of Company material and supplies.
- Delegates duties as necessary, although this does not relieve the Director of the responsibility.
- Ensures that all individuals in the production unit are properly equipped and qualified to perform their duties.
- Ensures that the maintenance personnel use only calibrated tools when required.
- Accountable to ensure operations are conducted in accordance within the conditions and restrictions of PSA Airlines Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
- Accountable to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and PSA Airlines standards.
- Accountable to ensure management of safety risks and security threats to aircraft operations.
- Responsible for the Companys Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifics
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current A&P license.
- At least three years’ experience within the last six years in the maintenance of aircraft with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- One year experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service.
- Must know the maintenance parts of the manual system, including maintenance operations specifications and applicable provisions of the FAR’s.
- Must have sufficient training in the concepts and programs specified in the Company manual to assume compliance and the ability to supervise such programs.
- Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Additional Information
Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Vice President of Technical Operations.
Authorities: None.
Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.
Work Environment: This job operates approximately 80 of the time inside a climate controlled building and approximately 20 of the time outside in all types of weather. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
