K Bay Air in Homer, Alaska is looking for a Director of Operations. We are a family-owned On-Demand Part 135 business proudly operating a fleet of four Cessna 206s on wheels and 2 De Havilland Beavers on floats. We offer Bear Viewing Tours and Charters to Katmai and Lake Clark National Parks, along with gorgeous Flights See’s around Glaciers and Volcanos.
The Director of Operations will oversee the daily operations of the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, optimizing workflows, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, proven expertise in the Aviation industry, and a track record of developing processes that enhance productivity and business performance. This position will help us maintain a respectful working relationship with the FAA and other government entities like the National Parks Service, The State of Alaska, and Native Corporations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and collaborate with teams to ensure operational excellence.
- Develop and implement organizational strategies, policies, and procedures to support growth and scalability.
- Track progress and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop long-term strategic plans.
- Oversee Safety Management System and ensure compliance with applicable laws and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Serve as a pilot, guide, training pilot, and check airmen.
- Ability to conduct oneself with the highest level of integrity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
Salary is based on Experience (D.O.E.). This position can be configured as a full-time or part-time position depending on candidate.
