Position Summary 

 

Magellan Aerospace, Limited has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Procurement. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible to lead the Procurement and Supply Chain team in North America. The person in this role will draft and deploy effective strategies that result in overall cost reduction, inventory management and process improvements. The focus will be in North America, however, a deep understanding of global procurement would be considered an asset. The successful candidate must be well organized and demonstrate analytical and strong communication skills.

 

Essential Responsibilties

 

  • Manage overall supply chain operations
  • Evaluate past performance data to forecast needs and production planning.
  • Develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.
  • Manage the proper sourcing and procurement of materials, supplies and services for Magellans North American divisions. 
  • Oversee the contract review process of current and new products.
  • Accountable for approved budgets and financial metrics
  • Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies to optimize efficiencies and reduce cost across Magellan’s North American divisions.
  • Oversee supplier contract negotiations to secure favourable results related to pricing and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Apply key performance metrics to improve cost and operational performance. 
  • As a key member of the management team, provide leadership and cross functional input on an daily basis
  • Develop and implement a logistics strategy to improve supplier performance and reduce cost
  • Ensure full compliance to the applicable Magellan policies and procedures.
  • Ability to identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to supply chain activities, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Lead and manage the supply chain team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to build a high-performing team.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the aerospace industry regulation and compliance, example ITAR
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner at all times.
  • Moderate travel is required 20 to 40

Position Requirements 

 

  • Over 5 years experience
  • Degree in Business Administration or Engineering an MBA is preferred
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
  • Certified in Production Inventory Management (APICS, CPIM)
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.)
  • Strong ethical values
  • Must be highly organized
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Deep knowledge of supplier management
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable presenting to all levels of management
  • Must have sound knowledge of ERP and experience in an SAP environment would be an asset
  • Moderate travel mostly in North America some global
