Reporting directly to the Assistant SOCC Manager and indirectly to the SOCC Manager. The Duty Supervisor is responsible for supervising Crew Scheduling Supervisor and OCC Supervisor while coordinating the daily operations of Central Mountain Air’s flights. This role is essential in maintaining our high safety standards, on-time performance, operational efficiencies, and customer satisfaction, while adhering to company policies.
Job DescriptionLeadership and Team Supervision:
Supervise the Crew Scheduling Supervisor and OCC Supervisor and their respective departments.
Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.
Foster a culture of safety, high-performance, and teamwork within the Operations Control Centre.
Coordinate staff scheduling and performance to ensure it meets company operational needs.
Responsible for establishing training documentation and training of all new employees.
Uphold the highest standards of safety, service and regulatory compliance, ensuring all practices meet industry standards, internal safety protocols and company policies.
Champion, comply with and adhere to all company polices and procedures.
Actively promote safety and quality within the organization and department by encouraging employee participation in SMS and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
Comply with all SMS and safety policies, processes and standards.
Operational Oversight
Assist the Chief Dispatcher/SOCC leadership/Commercial Leadership in establishing and implementing department policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
Monitor and manage real-time flight operations, ensuring compliance with flight plans, safety regulations, and company standards.
Assist in operational decisions, in partnership with the Chief Dispatcher/SOCC leadership/Commercial Leadership, related to delays, diversions, and other critical situations and contribute to the safety and efficiency of flights.
Communication and Coordination
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure all operational details are accurate and up to date.
Keep up to date with changes in regulations and industry standards and assist in establishing and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure operational procedures.
Assist in addressing and resolving operational issues and challenges in a timely manner.
Emergency Response
Coordinate responses to operational emergencies, working closely with relevant authorities and teams to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers and crew.
Provide operational support and communication during irregular operations (IROPs).
Other Duties as Assigned
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Previous experience as a licensed dispatcher in the aviation industry considered an asset.
Minimum 3 years of experience in an operational aviation setting.
Minimum 1 year leadership experience
In-depth knowledge of flight operations, dispatch procedures, crew scheduling, and regulatory compliance.
Experience working in Amelia Res and Merlot considered an asset.
Able to apply applicable regulations (i.e., Canadian Aviation Regulations) and Standards (i.e., Commercial Air Service Standards)
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to make critical decisions with limited information.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work irregular hours and be on-call to address operational issues
