Position Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will manage the company EHS Program to support safe work practices and ensure facilities are in regulatory compliance, will be the champion of the safety committee and promote continuous improvement for the EHS Department. The EHS Manager develops, plans, and implements programs to maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory laws. The primary goal is to protect the employees, customers, and the environment, in addition to developing, coordinating, and implementing training programs in support of PCC policies and regulations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Administers safety training for all newly hired employees and specific job-related safety training.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Champion of the 6S Program and partners with department leads to maintain program and scores.
  • Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge for employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Member of site leadership team.
  • Lead and partner with site leadership, implementing new or updated EHS prevention and compliance programs while driving employee engagement in EHS.
  • Manage execution of EHS related capital projects for the site.
  • Manage site activities with regulatory agencies to verify compliance, resolve situations, and maintain a cooperative working relationship.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to site EHS contacts to promote safe work behaviors and foster a lean safety culture.
  • Identify and implement applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead all environmental compliance (hazardous waste, air emissions, water).
  • Perform research projects regarding operational or site programs, serve on project teams, and provide recommendations regarding new or existing operations.
  • Perform and complete various site EHS inspections required for compliance.
  • Partner with management on business, organizational, and EHS programs, provide advice and guidance, and serve as a member of the management team.
  • Investigate accidents and environmental incidents through root cause analysis and recommend policies, procedures, and/or other actions to correct problems and prevent future occurrences.
  • Lead management when implementing new or updated EHS prevention and compliance programs.
  • Perform investigations, analyses, and research that require specialized knowledge in several EHS areas, develop reports and findings, and recommend operational changes.
  • Manage the Process Safety Management, within program guidelines.
  • Contribute and support regional, divisional, and corporate EHS activities.
  • Ensure that industrial operations are in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Develop and provide employee training on environmental programs and policies.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reports to various local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and maintain permits as per state regulations.
  • Work with site management team to develop effective environmental strategies to reduce environmental impact.
  • Oversee pollution control programs and develop waste management, treatment, and recycling procedures.
  • Develop budget and timelines for environmental operations and develop cost reduction initiatives while still maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to lead site procedural and operational audits and coordinate activities with regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to provide direction and consultation on various environmental, health, and safety issues.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations, responds promptly to needs of employees and management, solicits feedback for improvement.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines, planning, and prioritizing work activities, both at the plant a division level.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years related experience in a machine manufacturing facility; California experience preferred.
  • Prior experience developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures; interpreting and applying department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations, facilitating, and resolving sensitive health, safety, and environmental questions and concerns; and working as a member of a management team.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Operation and Maintenance of mechanical systems.

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $125,100 to $187,700 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 3X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
