Job Description:

Job Summary: 

The Environmental Projects manager of the North America Region assists in the identification, selection, and implementation of projects run in different business areas to reduce our environmental footprints in manufacturing activities on a regional level of the US facilities.

The Environmental Projects coordinator will report to Sustainability Governance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Regional Environment Roadmap  (40) 

  • Consolidate the roadmaps (projects bridges, trajectories and forecast model) of the three divisions.

  • Define the detailed Regional Environmental Roadmap aligned with high5&43; ambition in alignment of Local environmental roadmaps and targets

  • For specific sites, drives specific projects in support to the Operations Function ( when applicable) as project manager to target    reduction of Energy purchased / CO2 emission in contributing, validating local and regional business case investment scenario (REC, PPA/ VPPA/on site energy production)- and the set-up of regional roadmap (bridge of projects, trajectories, forecast model)

  •  Portfolio management and data transparency in support to Operations Function (30)

  • Manage the portfolio of projects and deliver monthly status reports (in support to Operations reporting processes when applicable)

  • Collect and analyze project data to evaluate implementation effectiveness (in coordination with Operations where applicable)

  • Develop data transparency in the reporting process

  • Improve measurement capabilities in coordinating at regional level the deployment sensors system site

  •  Project management (30)

  • Define tool set to monitor the projects portfolio (routines, dashboard, process, tools) with support of the teams in the G and IM functions

  • When necessary lead the deployment of some of the projects

  • Coordinate the deployment of the project when it is managed locally 


 

Qualified Experience and Training: 

Education:

Required: A Master Degree in science, sustainability or environmental management, marketing, business, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

Required: 5&43; years of experience in corporate sustainability management 

Preferred: 2 years of exposure to Aerospace and Defense Industry and understanding of the Aerospace value chain, past experience within Airbus Group preferred. 

Licensure/Certifications:

Preferred

  • Project Management Certification is desirable

  • Sustainability management related Certification is desirable

Travel Required: 

  •      20 Domestic and International

Citizenship:

  • Eligible for employment in the US

  • Authorized to work in the US, 

  • Able to work in US without current or future need for  visa sponsorship)

Qualified Skills:

  • The  job requires analytical skills (ability to use, analyze and  display data), project management skills, very good stakeholder management skills (i.e. ability to engage with and coordinate many diverse stakeholders) and ability to work in an autonomous way.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in developing and implementing corporate social responsibility strategies and initiative

Communication Skills:

Required:

  • Fluency in English both written and verbal is required. Fluency in French, German and/or Spanish is highly desirable.

Preferred:

  •  Fluency in French, German and/or Spanish is highly desirable.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

Required:

  • Google suite


 

Complexity of the Role:

  •  Involved communication on a frequent basis with internal and external parties – executive levels

Level of Decision Making: (Provide level of decision making (strategic, tactical, operational) and impact of decisions.)

  • Tactical decision making for regional High5&43; roadmap (part of regional top Objectives and Airbus TCOs)

Nature of Contacts:

Internal:

  • Regular reporting to Sustainability steering committee gathering SLT members of Airbus Americas and chaired by the VP Head of Strategy, Sustainability and Transformation

  • Lead of MFT on different sites to implement environmental projects (regular contact with head of sites)

External:

Contact with the stakeholders for environmental projects (electricity providers, waste management…)
