Position Role Type:

Onsite

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

The Operations and Mission Analysis Southwest (OMA-SW) department performs customer focused mission modeling and simulation and analysis activities for all customer areas at Raytheon. Our teams develop, analyze, and grade flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements. The department has a tradition of excellence through innovation and teamwork while championing individual diversity in a flexible work environment to meet the needs of today’s workforce.

What You Will Do

  • The Exo-Atmospheric Rapid and Radiation Analysis Manager will join our OMA-SW Department that supports multiple IRADs, CR&Ds, and programs in Air and Space domains, Land and Air Defense, and Naval Power.
  • You will have opportunities to use a wholistic mindset coupled with your engineering skills to develop and visualize solutions in support of OMA-SW projects as an individual contributor.
  • You will use modeling and simulation to perform evaluations of end-to-end system needs to discover system interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill-chain (e.g., ensuring sensors can “talk to” shooters).
  • You will work on the modeling and simulation of system and mission kill chains (e.g., intercepting a threatening ballistic missile) with tools such as Government, Commercial, and Raytheon simulations (e.g. AFSIM, STK).
  • You will lead the implementation of algorithms to provide next-generation performance across the entire system of systems.
  • In your section leader role, you will be responsible for leading a team of 8-15 Engineers focused on the development and integration of variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that effectively capture system and system of systems effects in complex threat environments.  In additions to diverse modeling and simulation skills, this section has expertise in analysis of atmospheric radiation upon systems operating in the atmosphere and expertise in software containerization.
  • You will work with the team to generate virtual and/or analytical solutions to identify technology gaps, demonstrate the operational benefits of new mission concepts (e.g., Manned-Unmanned Teaming) in complex operational scenarios, develop requirements, test systems, and train operators.
  • You will be accountable for the execution of work and delivery of products from your section.
  • The Section Manager is responsible for direct line management activities for the team, including performance development and appraisal (including salary planning), career development, staffing allocation and ensuring your team has the resources needed to perform their work, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and business alignment.
  • You will be responsible for the flow of communications between your section and Raytheon management, flowing communications down to your team and providing status and reports up to Raytheon management.

What You Will Learn

  • You will learn how to develop, analyze, and grade flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements.
  • You will get hands on system-of-systems solutions for OA/SW to include threat definitions and environments, and competitive systems analysis.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Familiarity with CONOPS development, Mission and Campaign Modeling, Battle Space Command & Control simulation, or Threat Assessment & Modeling
  • Experience with Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, or Design of Experiments
  • Experience with Military Operations Analysis
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Raytheon owned Modeling and Simulation tools (e.g. OpsTool or RCADE) or Government/Industry Modeling and Simulation tools (e.g. AFSIM, OneSAF, ESAMS, Brawler)
  • Experience with modeling and simulation of sensing systems and effectors
  • Experience with software containerization
  • Experience with Statistical analysis, Data Analytics
  • An advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline
