We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sr. Manager, FBO Aircraft Services to oversee maintenance operations across multiple Fixed Base Operator (FBO) locations. This leadership role involves supervising FBO based maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, optimizing workflows, and fostering a culture of excellence and safety. The ideal candidate is an accomplished professional with a strong technical background in aviation maintenance, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring teams. As the Sr. Manager, FBO Aircraft Services, you will conduct regular site visits to support and guide FBO-based maintenance teams, collaborate with FBO leadership to align strategies with operational needs, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance and overhaul processes.
- Maintenance Department Oversight: Supervises the activities of maintenance departments within FBOs including avionics, aircraft maintenance, administrative documentation, and aircraft parts inventories.
- Planning & Development: Leads planning initiatives of maintenance departments to further develop overhaul capabilities, meet spanet demands, and document initiative success for development benchspaning. Proactively develops new business plans and discusses capital requirements and anticipated sales opportunities with area leadership.
- Routine Site Visits: Regularly meets with direct report groups at FBO sites to ensure maintenance departments are equipped with necessary tools and resources. Regularly inspects facilities and equipment for safety and appearance standards.
- Workforce Optimization: Handles personnel tasks including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating performance, administering discipline, and resolving conflicts amongst maintenance employees.
- Collaboration with FBO leadership: Develops and maintains strong working relationships with FBO GMs to assess business needs and create a long-term strategy.
- Quality Assessment Audits: Collaborates with the Quality Manager(s) to create an MRO-FBO hybrid business audit and conduct annual audits of each facility.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation, engineering, business, or a related field, with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, 10+ years of experience in general aviation and/or corporate jet aircraft maintenance may substitute for formal education.
- Valid State-issued driver’s license.
- Active Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
