Compensation Data

The annual salary range for this role is: 

$154,200.00 - $123,360.00
 

Job Summary

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for maximizing the effectiveness of our production equipment, facilities assets, and human resources in the Maintenance and Facilities Department.  Understands and adheres to established policies, procedures and methods.  Recommends and implements changes to improve assets, production and maintenance processes, and part quality; while reducing overall operating costs. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides input into the business plans of the Site and is responsible for the management of the Production and Facility equipment to achieve the targets set.  
  • Maintains a Safe, Healthy and Environmentally sound workplace.
  • The organization’s target is to be "Best in Class".  This requires a cultural change for the full maintenance organization, to include union maintenance personnel.  Components include: 
    • Ensures that performance criteria for individuals is established, understood, reviewed regularly and actions taken as needed to ensure performance.
    • Reviews competitive posture of unit with in-house and /or outside suppliers of similar services and recommends strategies to be the lowest cost, highest quality provider of products or services, within bargaining unit guidelines.
    • Insures prompt delivery of finished products or services to internal customers.  Employs various communication styles and methods to keep internal customers informed of progress.
    • Assesses the skills of the team members and the needs of the organization.  Fills gaps by developing individual team members through mentoring, formal and informal training programs.  Implements hiring plans as necessary to fill any remaining gaps.
  • Maximizes equipment uptime by:
    • Implementing total preventative maintenance (TPM) program; in partnership with the Operations group.
    • Identifying critical spares requirements and maintaining sufficient stock
    • Driving toward zero unplanned equipment downtime in the facility
    • Driving the team to identify root causes for equipment downtime and effectively managing corrective action plans and efforts. 
    • Continually increasing the effectiveness of our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Responsible for directing the activities of all Maintenance and Facilities staff and collective bargaining unit personnel. 
  • Responsible for cost control, staffing, Maintenance and Facility requirement forecasts.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.
  • Able to respond to issues on a 24/7 basis as needed.

Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Maintenance and/or Facilities Management or related fields; Will consider 8 years of professional experience in facilities and/or maintenance management, in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance for manufacturing or production.
  • 5 years of experience in management of maintenance departments and personnel.
  • U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leader with ability to cast vision, motivate, and drive accountability, while fostering and encouraging an ethical and positive workplace. 
  • Results driven leader with proven record of success. 
  • Working knowledge and experience in maintenance for Union work environments.
  • Strategic leader with tactical and methodical execution. 
  • Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and controls.
  • Thermal and chemical processing equipment.
  • Maintenance of plant infrastructure.
  • Experience working in refinery type of manufacturing environments
