Position Summary

  • Compensation: Salary $59,500-$72,250
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

The Line Service Operations Manager oversees day-to-day airside operations at Clay Lacy Aviation’s full-service FBO in Oxford. This position supervises and directs the activities of subordinate supervisors and employees. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. They will also promote the Clay Lacy Aviation vision, mission, and values to create a positive team environment that raises the level of safety, service, and value for our customers and employees.

 Responsibilities

  • Directly Manages all FBO Line Supervisors, Line Service Technicians and indirectly other various operational employees.
  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
  • Develop and maintain site practices and procedures that contribute to safe, profitable, positive, and enjoyable work environment.
  • Ensures location is complimented with all current operational and safety requirements and company standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure that all employees are properly trained with appropriate documentation to evidence such training as recommended in NATA’s “Safety First” procedures. Both initial and recurring.
  • Oversees airside FBO operations to include aircraft movement, refueling, marshalling, and hangar organization while maintaining a visible and authoritative Line Service presence on the ramp.
  • Assists the General Manager in developing policies and procedures consistent with industry best practices.
  • Manages ground service, fueling and hangar equipment/supplies to ensure all are in a safe working manner.
  • Performs audits of all ramp and hangar spaces.
  • Drives the Client Experience Program as it relates to all airside FBO operations.
  • Identifies performance issues as they arise among Line and Ramp personnel and makes corrections as necessary.
  • Assists with the recruitment of Line Service personnel.
  • Monitors “Red Flag” accounts and ensures that their experience with the FBO is without incident.
  • Performs all regular duties of a Line Service Supervisor and Line Technician.
  • Initiate emergency and incident response procedures as required.
  • Organize weekly departmental meetings and design other communications flows between staff and management.

 Education

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, aviation management, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience

Five to seven years related experience and/or training with at least three years of related general aviation ground handling supervisory experience.

Skills and Abilities

The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust or jet engine noise. Must have ability to:

  • Regularly walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented dedication to great customer service and the ability to inspire that commitment in others.
  • Thorough knowledge of the general aviation industry, aircraft makes and models, and ground support suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of ground handling training programs.
  • Critical Thinking &8212; Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Service Orientation &8212; Actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Social Perceptiveness &8212; Being aware of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Should have general working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Management of Personnel Resources &8212; Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
