The General Manager (GM) position will be responsible for leading the Statesville, NC (SVH) Aircraft Base Maintenance Location and working closely with all business areas to ensure process discipline, planning, training, equipping the workforce with the right tools, and effective communication flow throughout an organization of 110+ employees. The GM develops and implements best practices methodology, driving competitive advantage through a continuous improvement, process-based culture focused on safety, service, profitability, accuracy, and speed.
The GM serves as a key change agent, leading the SVH team with a special focus on people, process, and tool innovation to achieve faster turn-around time, increased quality, and cost savings.
He/she will effectively manage a workforce with processes in place to achieve the targets stated in all Service Agreements.
This position reports to the Vice President – Fleet Aircraft Maintenance, MIV & SVH and serves as the primary contact for information and communication between the customer and the company.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Organizes and directs the entire SVH team.
- Leads the organization through the implementation of operational initiatives, documented processes, metrics, and measurements to ensure aircraft are delivered on time, on-budget, and defect-free to customers.
- Focuses on continuous improvement, defect reduction, and growing a culture of process discipline.
- Partners with the customer and key functions in the business to respond to key business and customer requirements.
- Ensures work standards, policies, and processes are developed, and the workforce adheres to requirements.
- Develop strategic manpower, equipment, and tool requirements for the organization.
- Establishes and monitors conformance with specifications, procedures, schedules, and safety.
- Analyzes root causes and develops mitigating action plans on key organizational quality metrics and performs periodic reviews to ensure corrective actions achieve desired results.
- Motivates, leads, and mentors key staff to deliver on the companys strategic vision.
- Fosters and maintains a professional relationship with the customer and their site managers.
- Manages billable and unbillable hours.
- Manages the process for a holiday and paid time off.
- Manages the coordination between customer Planning and site maintenance performed at the location.
- Manages the review of timecards and expenses for technicians.
- Oversee the management of capex expenditures, tooling, and consumables.
- Performs annual reviews with input from Operations and Chief Inspector for all technicians and related personnel.
- Monitors the coordination of manpower between aircraft workloads and site supervision.
- Reviews work orders for completion and proper documentation.
