Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and plan the work of mechanics by coordinating with Service Manager/Director of Maintenance.
- Assist other team members in performing all repairs, replacements, etc. on all aircraft systems,airframes, or engines in a safe and expeditious manner and within FAA, and or manufacturer’s specifications.
- In conjunction with Assistant Service Manager and Director, help ensure that work is of high quality and report faulty equipment, or repairs that are unsafe or potential problems to customer’s aircraft; report errors, and do repair as needed.
- Be very familiar with all technical publications (maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, etc.) concerning aircraft maintained at this facility.
- Work and communicate closely with other shop and office personnel to assure smooth transition of all customer aircraft.
- Be very familiar and proficient with all shop test and maintenance gear.
- Help ensure that all employees are observing safety procedures.
- Maintain a professional demeanor towards all customers, be courteous, informative and sincere; maintain a professional appearance for customer interface.
- Participate willingly in customer interface with a professional attitude as required on a regular basis.
- Prepare aircraft and paperwork for the final inspection to be completed by the quality department.
- Ensure work orders are ready to close when the aircraft work is complete: resolution, sign-offs, etc.
- Maintain a clean and neat work area; enlist the help of team members as needed.
- Ensure removed interiors are neatly stored on carts, and placed in storage in the interior storage room if possible; protect leather and fabric from dirt and damage.
- Be cognizant of ALL team aircraft and be able to summarize status at all times.
- Ensure shop equipment stored is in its place at end of shift; turn fans off (including built-in wall), turn backshop lights off and close backshop doors.
- Own and maintain basic hand tools and test equipment to perform assigned tasks.
- Provide backup to line personnel when they are moving aircraft in and out of the hangers.
- Other activities and projects as approved by the Director of Maintenance, Service Manager or the President.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Education to meet licenses required (see below)
- 10 years in aircraft maintenance preferred.
- Experience with Cessna models from 152 to 400 series aircraft preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license at all times
- Must meet the requirements of Airport Authority to be receive a badge and have no ramp restrictions
- Possess your own tools
Communication Skills:
Must be able to read and speak English. Must be able to communicate effectively with other personnel.
Mathematical Skills:
Basic math skills.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Budget Responsibility:
Assist department managers in maintaining a specified budget.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
A & P License, Inspection Authorization License preferred.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer aptitude preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Occasional periods of walking, sitting, rotation, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
Occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs, and frequently lifting up to 10 lbs.
