About the role
Qatar Airways is looking for Leads IT projects including implementation (using in-house developed and 3rd party vendor products) and support for assigned business unit. This includes leading the project management lifecycle, requirements gathering, facilitating RFP/RFQ/ Tender process and coordinating the technical evaluations with SMEs.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of projects within the established procedures, quality standards and methods to achieve the targets of schedule, cost, quality, and ROI.
- Has knowledge and experience in vendor evaluation, selection, contracting and implementation of 3rd party applications
- Lead the project team for collecting, understanding and documenting business requirements (functional and non-functional), project effort estimation, project scheduling and translating those into functional and system design specifications.
- Manage the assigned IT projects through the use of proven Software Development Life Cycle processes, COTS implementation life cycle process, procedures and tools to include planning, coordinating all project activities, project status meetings, system specifications design and review, technical review, system testing, system implementation, post implementation reviews and ongoing application support.
- Responsible for reporting project status to IT Management, business unit project sponsor and other key stakeholders, as needed.
- Experienced in driving projects comprising of multiple stakeholders
- In case of 3rd party vendor application implementations, responsible for supporting business with the technical aspects of the procurement processes, liaise with external vendors, support installation of the application, support business implementation activities including testing (functional and NFR), production roll-over, post implementation SLA monitoring and Change Request management activities, working in close coordination with the QRIT and other QR Group departments, business users and subject matter experts.

QualificationsAbout You
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- 7 years in Software vendor selection, project management, product implementation and system maintenance
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Implementation and Software Quality Assurance processes
- Must have good customer facing and stakeholder management skills.
