Landing Gear Assembly Supervisor
Job Description:

Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partner with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar.

What will I be doing?

A challenging and multi-faceted role, you will support the completion of production plans (MPS) with responsibility for the Assembly processes for the A320F Landing Gear & Boeing 737. This will be achieved through close collaboration with Gate 1 and Gate 2 Supervisors to coordinate delivery of kits to enable assembly prior to despatch. Technically strong, drive and a structured approach will be vital.

Key Responsibilities & Duties;
•tSupervise and manage the Assembly teams, to achieve the despatch plan set by the gate manager
•tReduction in operating costs and the enhancement of standardised best practice
•tTo ensure effective people management and use of reports and application of tool kits to support performance, conduct, absence, wellbeing, annual leave management, overtime reviews
•tEffective control of WIP levels, rotable piece parts and SPT reduction
•tTo be accountable for and to elect and supervise dedicated focals in your area of responsibility to control key processes, including but not limited to 5S, Calibration, Maintenance, Health & Safety, Tooling and GPIs
•tEnsure that works procedures and SOPs are adhered to at all times
•tTo take accountability for Continuous Improvement initiatives including process mapping, kaizen events, 5S etc
•tFamiliar with and able to apply Problem Solving and 8D techniques. Demonstrate average hour improvements in your area of responsibility
•tTo ensure an effective cascade of policy deployment initiatives and information cascade
•tChampion adherence to the Airworthiness regulations and ensure compliance via robust and accurate works procedure reviews
•tAdherence to and delivery of the Overhaul and Repair programme activity
•tEffective management of the training skills matrix and looking ahead to ensure team flexibility
•tOptimise labour to meet demand and eliminate bottlenecks whilst utilising cost efficient shift patterns
•tBuild and deliver recovery plans where necessary
•tShared responsibility for budget adherence
•tParticipate in Production Activity Control (PAC) meetings and revise schedules through agreement with the Master Production Scheduler and Programme Managers
•tTo optimise the utilisation and efficiency of equipment
•tEnhance Employee Engagement - Contribute to QRQC meetings and own action plans associated to improvements in internal quality/rejects. Update during monthly reviews

This role will be working on a day shift and late shift, rotating weekly.
Job Requirements:

•\tA strong engineering background is highly desired
•\tExperience of leading/managing a team
•\tA working knowledge of lean principles, to Green Belt level, and how to deploy these effectively to leverage continuous improvement within a defined area of control
•\tThe ability to adopt an efficient 'hands-on' approach as appropriate
•\tFamiliarity of 8D and QRQC tools would be advantageous
•\tComprehensive job knowledge associated to relevant methodologies or best practices and compliance requirements
•\tAbility to portray full endorsement of business goals and objectives
•\tCapable of interpreting and communicating KPI's and developing appropriate actions
•\tA flexible approach with ability to adapt to different working environments
•\tA keenly developed sense of right first time attitude towards quality
•\tEffective people development, leadership, coaching and team development skills
•\tHigh levels of ‘change energy' and demonstrated motivation towards change .implementation
•\tStrong and effective delegation skills
•\tEffective communication and relationship building skills throughout all levels of the business

•\tWell-organised, time management is key to this role in conjunction with excellent organisation skills
•\tSelf-motivated with a proactive working style
•\tGood knowledge of Microsoft applications, in particular Power Point, Word, Excel
