The main function of this position is to respond and resolve complex service calls providing technical support and troubleshooting to Honeywell customers. Additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of Small Service Jobs, SPOT and Preventive Maintenance may be assigned as well. These customers will have various products installed that fall into the - HVAC, Automation Controls, system category as well as their associated computer systems. The goal is to insure system uptime and efficiency.

Lead Advanced Field Service Technician (T3) will coach and mentor Lead Field Service Technician (T2) & Field Technical Service Technicians (T1)

Lead Advanced Field Service Technician will demonstrate expert knowledge of Honeywell systems and Industry Best Practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Verify system functional performance to ensure proper operations according to contract requirements and shop drawings/sequence of operations, etc.
  • Perform system backups, install appropriate updates and patches.
  • Complete documentation of all work done, including all readings, offsets, etc..
  • Update Customer drawings/documentation with any configuration or model changes.
  • Ensure all assigned Preventive Maintenance tasks are completed in the time allotted and the month scheduled.
  • Respond to and resolve complex Emergency Service Calls as required, in accordance with customer contract deliverables. Complex Service Calls include those on integrated and multi-vendor systems.
  • Diagnose and perform repairs in a time effective manner.
  • Project Management of and/or participation in delivery of Small Service or Install jobs, including but limited to, engineering, drawings, programming, documentation, installation, management of sub-contractors, start-up, testing and customer acceptance. Coordinate with SDC or Local engineer to understand scope, Hardware, Software, Graphics and as-built details.
  • Keep abreast of changes and new developments in product and preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Act as a mentor to junior technicians.
  • Availability for and performance of duties outside of normal working hours as required.
  • Promote, build and maintain good customer relations.
  • Keep supervisor informed of customer requirements, systems status, and actual, potential or perceived customer problems.
  • Supply information on adds or extras to appropriate Honeywell resource e.g. Site Primary tech, SSJ Salesrep, FSL, etc.
  • Demonstrate System and provide training to customers as required.
  • Participate in the preparation of job plans that cover job costs. Jobs to be completed as sold within the budgeted cost and timelines.
  • Supply quotes to customers on adds and extras identified or as requested.
  • Carry out hazard and risk assessments for all tasks according to Honeywell policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Report near misses, incidents and other opportunities for improvement.
  • Be responsible for Honeywell assets such as Tools, proprietary Software, & site database.
  • Attend and complete training programs as required.
  • Accurate and timely submission of all required paperwork, meet all reporting requirements.

Must Haves

  • Technical College Diploma in the appropriate field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience include troubleshooting, delivery of small jobs and mentoring junior technicians. Troubleshooting and performing service calls on integrated and multi-vendor systems.
  • Training/Certification on Networking protocols and products.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to use tools and test equipment.Minimum of 5 years experience with Networks, including both hardware and software.Expert troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.Exceptional documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills to deal with co-workers, customers and contractors.
  • Demonstrated leadership within the team.Ability to work with minimal supervision, work is generally not reviewed in detail. Guidance is available to review work as required.
  • Makes responsible decisions not usually subject to technical review on all matters assigned except those involving large sums of money or long range objectives.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, such as lifting over 25Lbs, climbing ladders, etc.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Security and other Clearances as required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the service area, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Language requirements as may be required geographically.
