Lead Training & Development Officer

About the role

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Flight Operations team as Lead Training & Development Officer to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As the Lead Training and Development Officer, your role will be critical in a team that aims to create captivating e-learning courseware using the latest instructional design methodologies. Your primary objective will be to ensure smooth operations of the department and you will be entrusted with various responsibilities that require a creative and analytical mindset and excellent leadership skills. Your duties will include:

• Conducting training needs analysis
• Designing and implementing training programs in collaboration with SMEs
• Updating and maintaining the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure daily smooth operations.
• Collaborating with other teams to ensure training compliance and that materials are aligned with company goals and meeting employee needs.
• Developing comprehensive storyboards, updating existing content and reference materials, creating engaging scenario-based assessments, and designing high-quality interactive eLearning experiences using graphics design software to promote understanding and engagement. You will leverage gamification techniques to enhance the learning experience and create motion graphics videos and animations.

In addition to these creative tasks, you will be responsible for effectively managing and completing all departmental projects within the agreed timelines, conducting quality checks to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans, update SOPs and conduct on-the-job training for team members.

Compliance with company standards and regulations is paramount, and you will ensure that training records are up-to-date and all learning materials meet the required quality, operational and regulatory standards.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years job-related experience preferably within the airline industry
• Experience of developing courses and exams using e-Learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline / Adobe Captivate and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (multimedia, graphic design, animation, video editing)
• Knowledge of instructional design principles and project management methodologies.
• Experience working with an LMS in an Administrator role.
• Possess interpersonal skills and have excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment, strong interpersonal skills, friendly and professional demeanor.
