The Lead, Methods - Electrical / Avionics Integration is accountable for the development and improvement of avionics and electrical manufacturing documentation and associated installation strategies in accordance with type design data and company objectives. This position will support Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and other internal groups to solve technical and scheduling problems and manage the incorporation of engineering change into the build during our manufacturing ramp up.
The position provides a unique opportunity to develop and build the manufacturing system for the new De Havilland Aircraft. The selected candidate should be skilled in planning, process development, technical problem solving and executing successful business plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Methods Engineering Technologists within a functional discipline of avionics and electrical installations.
- Set clear objectives aligned with company goals and manage team and individual performance.
- Ensure adherence to Engineering and Quality system processes to deliver high quality planning documentation that meets program and customer schedule and expectations.
- Support Production in the manufacture of aircraft assemblies and installations and resolve technical issues while optimizing production work packages.
- Define and continuously optimize processes / tools / behaviors considering business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new spanet conditions.
- Review Engineering change for manufacturability and harmonization within the manufacturing process and incorporate into the build in the most efficient manner.
- Remain in close contact with staff on the status of their work. Keep track of their progress and adherence to budgeted hours through task scheduling.
- Develop team members to reach their full potential through workforce planning, performance management, career development, succession planning and recruitment.
Education
- Combination of education and experience in aerospace and/or manufacturing will be considered.
- Degree or diploma in Business, Project Management, Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience (e.g. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Assembler, etc.).
Experience
- 10+ years of manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering experience in a large component manufacturing environment, specifically related to avionics and electrical development and modification programs.
- Previous experience leading a team considered an asset.
- PMP certification an asset.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting and cost estimating.

- Advanced knowledge in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
