As a Learning and Development Manager, you will design, develop, deliver and maintain training policies, procedures and programs; you will support the development of in-house trainers, including the Training Officer(s)/Supervisor(s). All training must be aligned with corporate objectives and business plans and comply with both National and International standards and regulations as appropriate. You will also develop, ensure implementation, monitor, and update and improve the company’s quality management systems.
In this role, you will
- Ensure that training needs are identified, effective training programs are designed and developed using a range of learning solutions as appropriate; including assessment and evaluation tools, exam papers, practical exams, assignments, pre-course or distance learning materials, online courseware, teaching plans, reference materials and presentations to ensure that resulting programs remain relevant, up-to-date, and accurate; the focus should be on meeting the operational business needs of the company
- Collaborate with the other departments to ensure the organization has a cohesive approach to invest, organize, administer, and track the effectiveness of existing training programs, and come up with new approaches/programs that will further improve overall company performance
- Partner with HR and business partners to improve/expand existing training curricula and future needs
- Put in motion a continued professional development program, wherein the Training Officer/Supervisor and other in-house trainers keep updated with the specific area of expertise across the industry in general; so that they can disseminate knowledge effectively, highlighting the latest information, methods and best practices in their field of expertise to both training colleagues and trainees
- Deliver a range of training courses relevant to the area of trainer expertise, as required
