Amentum is now hiring for several Logistician Manager (All Levels) positions in support of the Field, Lab and Air Integration / Experimentation / Modeling and Risk Reduction office at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD and other locations. This project will provide the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Research (C5ISR) Center services to include programmatic/business management services, engineering support services, field engineering, laboratory, logistics, and acquisition / administrative support services to augment FLAIR core Government personnel and turn-key solutions to support the missions of FLAIR and its associated Managers and customers. This support will be conducted in close coordination with Government project leads within FLAIR.

The candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Assures that consumer goods and services are being distributed in a way that is most efficient and profitable, applying scientific and mathematical principles to process the distribution of consumer goods and services.

  • Provides logistics technology for effective and efficient support of products, equipment, system manufacturing, or services.

  • Reviews contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements, such as facility details, staffing needs, and safety or maintenance plans.

  • Designs and analyzes the logistics processes and operational solutions used in distributing those goods and services; identifies and evaluates the effectiveness of all aspects of methods of distribution with the goal of improving operational efficiency, which would result in higher profits for the company; advises management on logistics topics; and proposes logistics solutions.

  • Develops the most streamlined, efficient method of product distribution possible.

  • Assesses the environmental impact or energy efficiency of logistics activities, evaluates logistics methods to reduce environmental impact, analyzes environmental regulations, and determines requirements to ensure organizational compliance.

  • Handles inventory, processes order, plans warehouse layouts, and helps design product packaging to maximize shipping efficiency.

  • May direct the work of Logistics Analysts.

  • Provides technical/logistics expertise and guidance in solving logistical and technical problems related to production start-up and on-going production of aircraft modification kits, new production of avionics assemblies, and kit installation activities.

  • Incumbent will interface with Program Managers and engineers to understand production schedule requirements and technical aspects of products, including wiring harnesses, sheet metal parts, and electronic avionic assemblies.

  • Responsible for electrical and mechanical fabrications, primary expertise is more on the electrical side than mechanical but includes both.

  • On the electrical side, fabrication ranges from aircraft avionics to aircraft modification kits, with application of significant experience with military fabrication standards and military aircraft installation standards.

  • During proof of concept and prototyping phases, focus is on engineering feedback for manufacturability, and workflow/instruction development in anticipation of production builds.

  • During production phases, focus is on streamlining for manufacturing efficiency while maintaining quality standards.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and other technical data to develop understanding of new designs and will provide feedback to engineering personnel on manufacturability issues.

  • Plan out the manpower and manufacturing resources required for kit and avionics production and will support proposal development activities by developing cost estimates related to kit builds and aircraft installations.

  • Incumbent will supervise technician production staff and will provide direction and guidance to lower tier technical staff to ensure production schedules and quality of deliverables are maintained.

  • Responsible for identifying and recommending lower tier staff for hiring; and will be responsible for oversight and correction of staff performance issues.

  • Develop lower tier employee skills, provide job motivation, and identify/manage training.

  • Assist in planning and management of field teams for kit installations.

  • Evaluate production requirements and develop acceptable technical solutions that optimize production processes to ensure manufacturing efforts are within budget and are delivered on time.

  • Daily interface with multiple task Program Managers, engineers, purchasing personnel, Quality Assurance personnel, and customers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Engineering, or related scientific/technical discipline is required.

  • 1-10+ years of experience

  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance. 

Compensation:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $225,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.).
