RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates the recommendation, planning, and implementation of equipment to improve production efficiency and meet cost containment goals.
  • Supervises, schedules and coordinates maintenance department activities to achieve production, quality and safety goals and requirements. Communicates daily with manufacturing managers to ensure that all production needs are being met.
  • Develops and manages the maintenance and capital equipment project budgets.
  • Inspects capital equipment installations in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
  • Participates in the hiring of maintenance and facilities department staff members and is responsible for training, orientation, communication, performance reviews, corrective disciplinary actions, and the coaching and counseling of staff members.
  • Develops schedules and controls preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Works with employees to assist with understanding and resolving technical and personnel problems.
  • Directs the operation of power, environmental, electrical, HVAC, compressed gasses, water, sewage, and refrigeration systems to provide uninterrupted service.
  • Maintains inventories of maintenance material supplies, critical spares and repair parts at required levels.
  • Orders equipment, supplies and services following established financial procedures.
  • Supervises planning and contracting of outside plant engineering services.
  • Prepares capital appropriations requests to support plant needs for growth, productivity, and safety improvements.
  • Maintain long term growth plans for the facility.
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere with excellent customer, client, co-worker and supervisor relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years maintenance/plant engineering experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, computer driven, pneumatic and hydraulic manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated record of successful people management and problem resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
