What the position is:

The Maintenance Training Supervisor is directly responsible to the Manager of Maintenance Training. Accountable for the Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities described in the Companys SMS Manual and Title 14 CFR Part 5.23. The Maintenance Training Supervisor is responsible to develop and conduct courses as required by this manual and the Maintenance Training Manual.

Essential functions:

  • Provide goals and review monthly and annual KPIs with team and evaluate for quality. Provide guidance and goals for improvement.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and organizing standards.
  • Provides coaching, counseling, and discipling employees (as required). Motivates employees by resolving issue and making decisions that are best for the department.
  • Controls expenses by gathering and submitting budget information, scheduling expenditures, monitoring variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and manage PTO and scheduling for classes.
  • Design and manage stock levels of educational aids and materials in anticipation of an upcoming class or for promotion of a course.
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
  • Perform accurate and complete entries for scheduling and coordinating classes as well as for entries of training (internal and external providers/vendors).
  • Create and maintain maintenance personnel training records and documentation for each company and vendor contracted course in accordance with course syllabus requirements.
  • Responsible for coordination and maintenance of apprentice level 1 and 2 program training in coordination with the Recruiting/HR, Finance, and Maintenance Training departments.
  • Perform data quality monitoring review weekly.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Maintenance Training department and all other Company departments.
  • Act as a liaison between the Director/Manager of Maintenance Training and Maintenance Training Instructors, Field Trainers acting as Instructors, and external vendor instructors.
  • Primary point of contact for Recruiting and Travel departments with new hire travel coordination, supporting Indoc and other training requirements as directed by the Manager of Maintenance Training.
  • Coordinate with HR, Travel, Security, and Safety Department along with the Drug & Alcohol Specialist for new hire required courses/items. Responsible for Indoc activities supporting new hire set up for e-mail, AMOS, and LMS-based training platform. Update the Day 1-3 slides pertaining to changes in onboarding, forms, and Company leadership as required by company policy changes and under direction of the Manager of Maintenance Training.
  • Map out training plans and build training class schedule to support the needs of the Company.
  • Conduct Maintenance department-wide needs assessments (for new hires and transfers) and identify training gaps/gap analysis to coordinate the employees to the required initial and recurrent (as needed) training.
  • Supports LMS-based training by reviewing and uploading courses for quality according to Maintenance program needs.
  • Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session. Then assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on KPIs.
  • Responsible for monthly review of the RII/Delegate RII list for Company and external vendors and for distribution to the FAA CMU.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports as directed by the Manager of Maintenance Training.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Maintenance Training Manager.

Authorities:

  • Manage course syllabi to include updates and development of course requirements for approval by the Manager of Maintenance Training.
  • Shall have the authority to perform work assigned.
  • Shall have the authority to approve individuals for non-RII authorizations/endorsement.

Delegation of Authority:

  • The Maintenance Training Supervisor may not delegate authorities.

General requirements & qualifications:

  • Previous aviation classroom training experience (preferred).
  • Proven work experience coordinating multiple training events/assignments in a corporate setting.
  • Know the appropriate parts of the GMM and Company policies/procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe and e-learning platforms (preferred).
  • Strong typing skills (60+ wpm with 98 accuracy preferred).
  • Excellent oral, written, grammatical, and communication skills to all organization levels.
  • Read, write, and speak English.
