Position Summary
The Manager of Airports Fuel Optimization is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of fuel optimization initiatives within the Airport Operations (AO) department. The Manager will partner with Airport Operations leaders to develop location-specific best practices to ensure optimized fuel burn including Auxiliary Power Unit APU)/Ground Power Unit GPU) usage, aircraft pushback procedures, AO crewmember fuel optimization training and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development, and company-wide airports optimization initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively across the organization to identify and define the most essential strategic opportunities and threats related to fuel consumption within Airport operations
- Partner across the company to develop execution strategies and plans for corporate wide programs
- Track and monitor key initiatives and results of implemented strategies
- Establish a monitoring system for jet bridge GPU and Air functionality
- Develop airport specific safety conscious pushback procedures
- Partner with flight standards to establish airport-specific aircraft operating strategies specific to fuel burn
- Develop and implement robust communication and change strategies that convey strategic objectives to AO crewmembers
- Utilize fuel burn data to establish continuous improvement strategies for airports fuel optimization
- Support in fuel data collection for annual regulatory reporting via CORSIA
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
- Other duties as assigned
