Manager Of Ground Operations Compliance and Service Delivery

Your role

Aer Lingus are happy to announce that we are currently recruiting for the role of Manager of Ground Operations Compliance & Service Delivery. In this exciting opportunity the Ground Operations Compliance & Service Delivery Manager will manage the Ground Operations Compliance specialists. They will ensure all areas of Ground Operations are compliant with all necessary regulatory standards and will be responsible for representing and influencing the company in line with the departments needs and legal obligations.

 

This pivotal role involves leading engagement with regulatory bodies such as IAA, DAA, and IOSA, ensuring meticulous audit preparation and serving as the Aer Lingus liaison during external audits. They will provide invaluable support to the UK AOC Manchester operation on compliance tasks, while also innovating by establishing new procedures to meet evolving business demands and enhancing operational efficiencies. Additionally, they will play a critical role in emergency response planning and implementing quality control measures to uphold service standards and elevate customer experience.

 

As Ground Operations Compliance & Service Delivery Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead engagement with regulatory bodies, IAA, DAA, IOSA and manage audit preparation. Ensure Ground Operations meet all its regulatory requirements and act as an Aer Lingus representative during external audits.
  • Support UK AOC Manchester operation on all compliance related tasks.
  • Establish new procedures where new business requirements arise and re-engineer existing business processes to achieve greater efficiencies.
  • Review, oversee and develop the Ground Operations Manual, Safety Alerts and Station Notices.
  • Manage & monitor statistics and compliance reports that are produced by the internal auditing program.
  • Manage compliance through effective monitoring of various evolving regulations and prepare Ground Operations network for the implementation of the EASA Part-OR regulations.
  • Manage the update, revision and standardisation of the Ground Operations procedures.
  • Participate in ground operations emergency response planning. Maintain current plan while implementing and communicating new processes as required.
  • Manage the Ground Operations implementation of product and service standards. Working closely with the Head of Customer Experience and cross departmentally to deliver the continuous improvement programme and increase customer satisfaction scores across the network.
  • Manage the coordination and communication of service delivery updates and procedural changes across the network, working closely with Regional Operations Managers/ Station Managers/ Handling Agents to ensure awareness and consistent implementation.

Your qualifications and key criteria

  • Strong experience in a Ground Operations environment
  • Master’s degree in business or related discipline or requite experience
  • Technical expert in ground operations and applicable legislative frameworks
  • Experience working with industry aviation standards organisations
  • Experience working with domestic and international aviation regulatory authorities
  • Strong understanding of EASA regulatory framework
  • Experienced in risk assessments and safety methodologies
  • Experience of working with both self-handled and third-party ground handling operations
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Excellent communication and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a heavy and varied workload
  • Excellent problem-solving skills & decision-making ability
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
  • A self-motivated team player with the energy and enthusiasm to react to challenging priorities while delivering on the set objectives for Ground Ops
  • Confident user of IT applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a key requirement of the role
  • Excellent skills in analysing and interpreting complex rules and regulations and applying such knowledge to provide solutions to business problems and issues
  • Proven ability to influence others at senior level both inside and outside the organisation and establish strong relationships.
  • Experience with GDPR and related data protection
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Provide two verifiable references.
  • Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin.
