About the role
As Manager Uniforms, you will manage the technical side of the Group’s Uniform Department requirements. You will prepare specifications for the development and enhancement of the uniform product for Qatar Airways. You will manage to deliver quality control and assurance to support the QR group requirement as well as manage supplier’s performance aligned with the company standards and manage all stakeholder interactions including the project management of new uniforms.
Your specific responsibilities include the following:
- Creating new uniform products as per stakeholder requirement that are fit for purpose and functional within budget parameters
- Creating technical sheets that detail every construction parameter, fabric, component, measurement, packaging and testing requirement of every uniform item for manufacturing and contract appendix
- Conducting technical evaluations of product in line with set technical criteria at Tender and RFQ stage to ensure product passes the required threshold to proceed to commercials
- Developing contracted product to be fit for purpose and 100 in line with current product for look and feel, fabrication, size range, functionality and quality to ensure compliant deliveries
- Inspecting all product deliveries to assure compliance to the approved pre-production sample. Also reviewing customer returns, monitoring quality trends, defect mitigation in house and with external vendors
- Review the technical pointers of garment fitting to ensure compliance with image and style guidelines. Measurement accuracy, workmanship, quality monitoring along with realteration monitoring of all tailoring service providers (alteration and stitching). Ensure effective supplier management to enhance performance and quality
- Managing laundry and luggage service quality and service parameters to ensure excellent customer experience for our staff. Answering and resolving staff queries related to damage and lost items including managing new service outlet openings and related projects
- Maintaining the highest standard of process, strategy, tactical and operational service delivery, including actively improving and enhancing services to our stakeholders through open engagement. This includes managing all stakeholder projects and internal communication flow for all projects
- Contribute towards Qatar Airways Group environment objectives and targets and incorporate this into business processes and decision-making driving environmental sustainability.

Qualifications
About you
A successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or Equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
- With 3 to 5 years of management experience in a corporate setup within a relevant industry - Design, fashion, manufacturing or retail.
- Relevant experience in design development, product development and specification management.
- Thorough knowledge of workings of the relevant industry including tailor service management, quality control and assurance
- Strong stakeholder management and strong networking skills.
- Excellent project management skills and highly organized.
- Able to manage time/ priorities and to work on multiple assignments/projects.
- Strong managerial and leadership skills - ability to allocate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
- Excellent communication skills
