The Manager, FinancialAccounting will report to the Director, Finance & Accounting. Thepost-holder will be responsible for the supervision of the financial reportingteam and a variety of activities that include, but are not limited to, analysisand maintenance of general ledger, financial reporting and budgeting, liaisingwith auditors, and management of projects.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the timely closing of ledgers and creationof key journals in preparation for month-end Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports inconjunction with the Director, Finance & Accounting
Coordinating activities surrounding the annualexternal financial audits and various ad-hoc operational and internal audits Maintaining general ledger, including relatedreconciliations and other schedules Preparing periodic reports to various local andinternational governmental and regulatory bodies Supervising and managing the financial reporting team Providing support and identifying areas where furthertraining is needed Conducting an annual staff development plan andperformance evaluation Identifying, evaluating and proposing solutions toaccounting, operating, compliance and/or technology risks and internal controls Managing, reviewing and making recommendations oninternal and external fraud vulnerabilities Conducting and directing special assignments asrequested by the EVP/CFO, Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) and/or ExecutiveManagement Performing any other duties as may be assigned fromtime to time
RequirementsQualifications,Skills & Experience:
Professional designation is required (CPA, CA) Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountingor equivalent Thorough understanding of Generally AcceptedAccounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS) Strong analytical, technical, and accounting skills,with minimum six years’ experience in financial accounting that includespreparation of management accounts Minimum three years’ experience in a supervisoryposition which includes staff management Advanced knowledge of financial reporting internalcontrol systems, trend analysis, accounting and information systems andstatistics Must be detail-oriented and possess strongorganizational, leadership and time management skills Able to effectively handle multiple projectssimultaneously in a deadline driven environment Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work ina highly challenging and busy environment Willingness to work the hours necessary to meetdeadlines Able to work without supervision Excellent verbal, written communication andpresentation skills Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, Platinum andDynamics 365
