PURPOSE: The Manager of Pricing and Revenue Management oversees product and pricing strategies that maximize company profit and growth. The manager considers how best to accomplish long-term objectives by developing robust models and processes, collecting relevant information, identifying trends and truths, and communicating the best course of action clearly and concisely. The manager also supervises a team of analysts and ensures that the department is driving towards company objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Optimize revenue strategy:
- Maximize total revenue by analyzing current prices for system and outputs from revenue model for airfare and ancillary products.
- Monitor booking levels to ensure demand is fully captured at the highest willingness to pay.
2) Department Leadership:
- Teach and train analysts to maximize revenues across all tools and technologies.
- Process improvement and optimization including determining needs, designing solutions, and implementation.
3) Support network growth:
- Analyze trends across bases, spokes, and markets.
- Provide inputs on marginal growth analyses.
4) Guide department and company leadership:
- Develop and empower pricing analysts to achieve daily pricing objectives and revenue initiatives.
- Coordinate with other departments on new airline initiatives.
- Create and advise on revenue strategy and forecasting.
5) Other planning and pricing initiatives as required.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in economics, statistics, mathematics, business, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of airline revenue management experience.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior with regards to travel planning, booking and departure seasonality, and price sensitivity.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency with Excel, including building new models and improving and adapting existing models.
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and lead a team of analysts to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
- Strong critical thinking with an analytical approach to problem solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort taking direction and independently managing areas of responsibility.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver highly accurate and timely deliverables.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
