Description:The Senior Manager Mergers & Acquisitions will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Leading execution of specific M&A transactions (acquisitions, equity investments or joint ventures) through full deal lifecycle, from target identification through valuation, engagement and negotiation, structuring, and post-closing support
• Creating and analyzing financial models and business cases that value target opportunities and provide clarity around the strategic and financial justification for the investment;
• Thinking critically, bridging strategy and goals to actionable transaction opportunities;
• Developing detailed and complex financial analysis and applying contemporary valuation methodologies;
• Staying current with accounting and tax considerations, and both industry and geographic specific trends;
• Leading cross-functional teams comprised of both Corporate and Business Area staff;
• Communicating the vision of investments and building content to communicate complex matters coherently both up and down the organization;
• Supporting post-investment performance monitoring and utilizing in-house post-integration and separation resources; and,
• Taking action and supporting decision-making to drive projects to a successful closure.

The Senior Manager will assist in the leadership of Corporate Development Analyst Staff, including fostering a collective ability to operate flexibly in a dynamic environment. Must understand Corporate staff roles and have the ability to use the organization effectively. This includes leading the transaction teams, due diligence, negotiating the agreements, work with corporate finance, understand business law as well as tax implications. The department activities are very “campaign” oriented and the selected individual will have to be able to change direction quickly. The ability to work on both domestic and international projects is also essential for this role.
Candidate should be prepared to share how they work and think independently, as well as have a demonstrated history of critical thought and successfully completing complex assignments in varied environments. Position will require travel and adjusting schedules to meet changes in requirements, often on short notice.
The Senior Manager will also lead and support strategic assessments made to Corporate and Business Area leadership. Candidate is expected to contribute to thought leadership, analysis and content to deliver recommendations. This work may or may not be directly related to a transaction, however, it requires the same diligence and thoroughness to prudently drive the direction of the organization as well as the corporation. A competence on making what may be a complex problem or issue into a simple and consumable one is imperative.

Basic Qualifications:
• 10-15+ years relevant finance and business work experience including direct M&A transaction responsibility on all aspects of a transaction;
• Financial theory, excel-based modeling and financial analysis skills;
• Effective project management skills;
• Experience-driven negotiations skills;
• Critical thinking skills;
• Effective Full Spectrum Leadership competencies;
• Demonstrated skills in building effective relationships within a large Corporation and with external constituents;
• Strategic minded and understands how to execute on a corporate strategy and how external deals fit into that strategy; and,
• Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
• US citizenship

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $144,600 - $255,070. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
