Role Introduction
  • To be a key contact point for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. local sales teams, GGT, Head Office, IATA, GDS, OTAs) on all distribution-related matters as well as acting as the local project coordinator to assist in implementing initiatives.
  • To have active involvement in nationwide sales campaign preparation and post-campaign evaluation with a focus to increase digital sales revenue.
Key Responsibilities

Distribution Channel Management

  • Play a critical role to support Digital & OTA Sales Manager to formulate the sales strategy of OTA development as well as the implementation in CM.
  • Conduct regular analysis on the performance of CM OTA sales and initiate the improvement plan.
  • Manage and promote the use of B2B platforms (e.g. CXAgents.com, supporting platforms for flagship stores) and B2C platforms (e.g. CX IBE, TRP, App, Flagship Stores).
  • Monitor the development of Online Travel Agency platforms (e.g. Ctrip, Fliggy) to ensure sales practices are compliant with relevant policies on the distribution of Cathay products.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with CM Online Travel Agencies and platform players in the spanet.
  • Act in the overall interest of the region and present Cathay’s comments and suggestions on topics related to sales and channel distribution
  • Conduct regular analysis on distribution practices in the region and share insights with direct managers, Head Office and local teams

Revenue Generation

  • Accountable for revenue target achievement from all CM OTA platforms including flagship stores, OTA own BSP performance.
  • Insight driven sales campaign with OTA within CM region and maximize the return on investment.
  • Strategic initiatives on OTA incl. Cathay member recruitment etc.
  • Support Head Office to develop and implement new ancillary products and drive additional revenue on OTA.
  • Distribution cost management of OTA flagship stores.

Change Management and Project Coordination

  • Champion Head Office initiated and locally initiated projects aiming to enhance current sales and channel distribution
  • Sharing from OTA and synergize with the development of Cathay own digital sales channels
  • Provide backup support on other administrative matters related to sales and channel distribution

People Development and Performance Management

  • Lead, support and encourage own team as well as the wider field sales team to achieve success
  • Build a strong and motivated team, ensuring the right organisational structure and the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration
  • Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values
  • Develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development
  • Maintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performance
  • Actively engage with employees to enhance communication and their understanding of department goals
  • Enhance the employee experience in line with the role level and the internal brand promise.

Requirements

Academic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Economics, Communications or related discipline

Knowledge, skills, training and experience

  • 7+ years’ of practical experience in a commercial discipline of digital sales or eCommerce. Experience with airline or hospitality industry a definite advantage
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and positively influence employees
  • Demonstrable experience in leading regional teams and individuals to achieve success
  • Demonstrable results in achieving digital sales targets
  • Experience in agency management and / or partner management
  • Adapts to and embraces constant change
  • Excellent commercial acumen and possess an analytical mind-set, and strong in digital sales tools
  • Ability to build trust, influence, and promote collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders
  • Take ownership, resourceful and decisive
