Title: Operations Control Center (OCC) Supervisor (Full time)

Department: Operations Control Center

Description: The OCC Supervisor acts as the senior on-site Supervisor for the Operations Control Center on shift.

Reports to: OCC Manager

Reports: Up to 5 team members on shift

Qualifications

  1. Must hold a minimum of a dispatcher certificate. Being a licensed dispatcher is an asset.
  2. Must be authorised to exercise operational control over all company flights as a holder of an FAA or ICAO equivalent dispatcher certificate or be a holder of a Warrant Dispatcher status or be able to attain a Warrant Dispatcher status.
  3. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in crew scheduling, crew planning and crew control. Needs to show strong analytical skills, including “think outside the square”.
  4. Must be 21 years of age or more for compliance purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. a) Must make herself/himself knowledgeable on interCaribbean General Operations Manual, the OCC Manual and applicable Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements (OTARs).
  2. b) Must become knowledgeable of interCaribbean policies, appropriate OTARs, and the performance of capabilities and limitations as outlined in the Flight Crew Operating Manual for each aircraft being dispatched.
  3. c) Ensure safe and efficient operation of the flight schedule, ensuring all flights depart, arrive and progress as scheduled in accordance with ICA Air Operator Certificate, applicable OTARs, IOSA (DSP) standards and other applicable Foreign Rules of the Air.
  4. d) Supervise and efficiently deliver the dispatch processes including flight, and all operational control functions.
  5. e) Manage on shift crew scheduling processes while adhering to FTLS as stated in Operations Manual (OMA).
  6. f) Activate and understand, if required, the ICA Emergency Response Plan in the event of an Emergency Response or other incident/ accident
  7. g) Provide flight planning and support to third party operators, as required.
  8. h) Ensure:
  9. i) Dispatchers are aware of and notify flight crews of relevant weather conditions for the flight.
  10. ii) Awareness and notification of any airspace restrictions.

iii) Issuance of relevant NOTAMs.

  1. iv) Any relevant supplemental information is made available to the OCC team, identifying the impact on operations.
  2. v) Develop alternative actions where necessary and communicate the same to impacted areas and departments.
  3. vi) Determine a degree of fuel load to be carried.

vii) The fuel order is placed in a timely manner.

viii) Fuel conservation considerations and fuel cost reduction measures are made in the interest of efficiency.

  1. i) Monitor and consider applicable issued ATC slots, assess their impact on network performance, re-route or re-negotiate if necessary with the objective to achieve best on-time and efficient flight performance.
  2. j) Ensure effective communication between dispatchers and Flight Crew on the ground and in flight
  3. k) Be able to lift up to 10 lbs if required.
