We are looking for a Pilot Support Manager with a strong HR background to support our Pilots in Belfast. This role requires an individual who excels in people management and has a proven track record of developing positive, high-performance cultures. You will play a key role in supporting pilots at multiple bases, working closely with the Base Captain to ensure the team remains engaged, motivated, and aligned with our operational goals. Your leadership should be visible, proactive, and rooted in inclusive behaviours.
Key responsibilities include overseeing pilot performance in areas such as conduct, absence, return to work, disciplinary processes, and grievance management. You will work with the Base Captain to implement the Flight Operations engagement plan, recognising exceptional contributions from pilots, and promoting recognition across the entire base community. Engaging with local industrial bodies and works councils will be an important part of your role, as will ensuring innovative and effective communication to pilots.
You will also support the safety and well-being of our pilots by contributing to Health and Safety standards and collaborating with the Safety and FRMS team to manage fatigue levels. The position requires you to manage relationships with third-party suppliers effectively and ensure operational effectiveness at the base, whilst maintaining a focus on HR and people-centric goals.
What you need to do this role
This role requires flexibility and regular travel across multiple bases. A strong HR background in regulated environments is essential, with experience in people management and performance in fast-paced settings. You should excel in prioritisation, demonstrate resilience, and drive employee engagement.
Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Outlook and Excel, is essential. You must have experience delivering performance through KPIs, especially in employee engagement. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to manage face-to-face interactions confidently, are key to success. Experience with HR policies and unionised environments, including interactions with union members, is required. Location & Hours of Work
This is a full-time role and will be 40 hours per week based in Belfast. This role is a non-flying role working 5 days out of 7 in the office, on a full-time basis which may include weekends and evenings. Some network travel may be required to meet business requirements.
