POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinate activities of coordinators engaged in production control and cycle counting. Direct movement of parts throughout department areas as assigned, assuring parts are expedited whenever necessary.
Provide direction to employees within department, addressing all personnel issues.
Direct the movements for parts both complete and in process between departments throughout the facility.
Provide support for Production, Purchasing, Customer Service and other departments throughout the Company as required.
Expedite hot parts and materials.
Track shortages of parts.
Coordinate inventory.
Provide direction in preparation and tracking of storyboards.
Request and monitor corrective action for damaged or rejected commodities.
Plan the construction and location of bins, storage racks and holding areas.
Develop and issue cycle counting procedures.
Purchase parts and materials as needed in department.
Process information as required within BaaN computer system.
Maintain all necessary records, files and reports.
Attend supervisor and management meetings.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a high school diploma or GED, five years experience in materials scheduling and handling within a manufacturing environment with at least two years in a supervisory position. Knowledge of BaaN computer system, and Materials Requirement Planning System (MRP) is necessary to perform the duties of this position.
Ability to perform the duties of the job applying basic mathematics, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and/or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
Travel and overtime are required when necessary.
