Responsible for effectively leading an aircraft structure manufacturing IPT program team to achieve demanding production aircraft program goals of delivered quality, on-time delivery, and affordable cost targets in support of customers aircraft schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Manufacturing Program to support the build of composite details and subassembly structures in support of a major aircraft assembly. This will include but not limited to:​
  1. Support the design efforts to implement manufacturing inputs into the design (Design for Manufacturing)
  2. Manage NRE tasks associated with starting a new program.
  3. Assess and complete the BOM and drawing build package. Identify weaknesses in current data package, and work with the engineering team to rapidly fill gaps.
  4. Plan and cost the manufacturing program
  5. Release and schedule all needed work to the manufacturing shops in order to support customer delivery schedule
  6. Oversee the procurement process to ensure on time delivery of needed supply chain materials and lead the build process.

  • Plan and cost the manufacturing program
  • Release and schedule all needed work to the manufacturing shops in order to support customer delivery schedule
  • Oversee the procurement process to ensure on time delivery of needed supply chain materials and lead the build process.
  • Defining and communicating program requirements, determining compliance and closure plans, assessing risks, and developing risk mitigation plans and strategies.
  • Establishing and maintaining program plans that achieve program objectives including work breakdown (WBS) of tasks, and integrated master schedule (IMS) and associated resource plan including establishment of functional program budgets and staffing aligned with program and company financial objectives.
  • Leading, directing, and effectively communicating to the program team (IPT) including company site operations, functional support, and the supply chain in the management of program tasks and activities, while achieving and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively manage and communicate contract performance and program status, issues, and corrective actions to the customer, to internal management, and to the program IPT

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or other related discipline

  • 10+ yeas of successful aircraft manufacturing program management experience with programs of significant scope and value.

  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, multi-tasking, and presentation skills (verbal and written).

  • Proficient in manufacturing program financial management methods, strategies, learning curves, and metrics.

  • Proficient with MS Office tool suite.

  • U.S. person or Green Card holder.

  • Ability to travel as needed or required - 25 estimated.

  • Adhere to work rules regarding respect in the workplace and foster an environment conducive to sustaining productive, professional and respectful rapport with work team.

  • Support other Aurora Flight Sciences work sites as required.

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.

Shift Requirements:

Extended and/or off-shift work will be occasionally required dependent upon the needs of the business.
