The Project Manageru202Fposition plans, organizes, and controls an assigned program from management of the proposal through program life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesu202F

  • Develop and oversee departmental budgets

  • Oversee plan to meet standards for cost, schedule, and quality for assigned projects

  • Attends meetings, manages delivery schedules, and coordinates configuration management activities.u202F

  • Ensure a safe and secure work environment is established and maintained

  • Establish and develop internal processes and procedures for Project Management to ensure standardization

  • Advises management of activities to include deliverable updates, personnel issues, and customer interactions.

  • This project management position is responsible for managing intermediate to complex proposals and programs

  • Provide financial and technical justification for program definition and functioning

  • Prepare program development objectives and schedules for all phases of program development and introduction to market

  • Responsible for managing assigned programs. Monitor and manage day-to-day progress of programs

  • Coordinate and develop program plans

  • Coordinate and develop financial plans for programs

  • Coordinate and develop marketing plans for programs

  • Collaborate daily with a wide variety of functional areas such as engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to meet or beat cost, schedule, and performance goals

  • Manage the programs performance to the program plans

  • Participate in overall program management discipline evolution within the organization

  • Conduct marketing analysis to develop program definitions

  • Lead the production of viable cost proposals in response to customer demands and marketing trends

  • Act as capture team leader for products and services to produce FAR- and DFAR-compliant proposals

  • Participate in key sales situations for the program

  • May be responsible for marketing new technology or follow-on business acquisition

  • Oversee program budgets and schedules

  • Analyze and resolve simple and moderately complex problems using project management tools

  • Provide technical expertise and training to other departments in support of program

  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide program definitions responsive to customer needs and marketing opportunities

  • Support the development of competitive analysis materials comparing program with its key competitors

  • Conduct market research and identifies and tracks market trends in companys industry

  • Establish dealer networks and creates and manages alliances with manufacturers

  • Identify partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products to broaden companys product line

  • Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for current and future programs

  • Develop and maintain a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for products

  • Advanced knowledge of the manufacturing/ engineering market in flight simulation and training

  • Experience working with military customers and products

  • Prepare, conduct, and run medium to large technical and management meetings with internal and external customers

Qualifications and Education Requirementsu202F

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent

  • Typically 8 years of related experience

  • Project Management Professional Certification (or able to obtain w/in 12 months).

  • Minimum of four to seven years of program experience and three years managing programs.u202F Experience managing contracts valued from $7-20M.

  • Strong knowledge of program budget and schedule development and management.

  • Experience managing the development of proposals.

  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing, with good interpersonal skills.u202F

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors.

  • Advanced mathematical skills are required.u202F Possess complex financial managerial skills to include budgetary and proposal activities. A basic knowledge of accounting is mandatory.
