Primary Objective of the Position:
The candidate has extensive experience in S/4HANA implementations, Agile methodology, and SAP Activate methodology and be responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight & Governance
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA, working closely with the Service Integrator (SI) and internal stakeholders.
- Define and maintain project governance, ensuring alignment with business goals and best practices.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, risk management plan, and resource allocation strategy to ensure smooth execution.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the primary liaison between the business, IT teams, and the Service Integrator to ensure clear communication and expectations.
- Manage relationships with senior leadership, business process owners, and technical teams to drive alignment on project objectives.
- Monitor and manage vendor performance to ensure contractual obligations and project milestones are met.
- Methodology & Best Practices
- Apply SAP Activate methodology to drive successful project execution from Explore to Deploy phases.
- Utilize Agile methodologies, including Scrum or SAFe, for iterative development, sprint planning, and backlog management.
- Ensure proper adherence to SAP best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
- Risk & Issue Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Escalate critical issues when necessary and drive resolution with a structured problem-solving approach.
- Project Execution & Delivery
- Oversee data migration, system integration, testing (SIT/UAT), cutover planning, and hypercare support activities.
- Ensure alignment of business processes with the new S/4HANA system, driving process optimization and automation where applicable.
- Track project progress using KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5+ years leading SAP S/4HANA transformation projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale SAP implementations with a Service Integrator.
- Strong expertise in SAP Activate methodology and Agile delivery models (Scrum/SAFe).
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, offshore resources, and third-party vendors.
- Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, etc.) and business processes.
- Strong knowledge of data migration, system integrations, testing strategies, and cutover planning.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills to engage with business and IT leadership.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, SAP Solution Manager, and project tracking tools.
- PMP, CSM, SAFe, or SAP Activate certification is a plus.
