OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE: (brief overview of key focus of position)
Supported by the Planning and Purchasing Manager, to coordinate the cost effective and timely purchase of Direct / Indirect and provision of repairable aircraft parts, to satisfy stock models, urgent requirements and scheduled maintenance events.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate Purchasing Activity
- Coordinate the purchase and provision of aircraft parts to maintain stock levels and satisfy requirements
- Plan aircraft part provisioning including rent, lease, PBH and purchase
- Minimise cost in conjunction with provision of a safe efficient supply and promote this awareness amongst staff
- Communicate changing lead times and non-availability of aircraft parts to other managers as appropriate.
- Ensure activities are satisfactorily undertaken to support core returns, and repairs.
Managing and Supporting Purchasing staff
- Ensure that all duties commensurate with the roles are managed effectively.
- Provide performance feedback to employees and assist in the supervision of employees
- Develop or maintain department KPI’s
- Ensure that all training and development needs of the staff are met
- Ensure that the department is resourced appropriate to fulfil the needs of the department efficiently.
Liaise with other Bristow Departments
- Inform the operations daily of an update on the movement of critical parts.
- Liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure correct and timely payment of invoices.
- Liaise with Maintenance Planning organisation to coordinate the timely receipt of components and parts
Supplier Management
- Develop and manage relationships with suppliers
- Create and maintain strategic relationships with vendors to minimize financial planning risk.
- Work with Compliance to review NCR’s associated with supply of parts and Monitor supplier performance.
Liaise with other Supply Chain functions
- Work with Planning Group to identify optimised stock levels
- Liaise with other departments to ensure efficiencies through logistics, Warehousing and inventory activity through weekly communications.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: (minimum education requirements, key skills and experience)
Qualification Standards
- At least three year’s experience of working in a regulated purchasing environment
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject, Business, Supply Chain, Procurement preferred
Experience
- Experience in technical purchasing, ideally aircraft parts
- Experienced in purchasing and contracts
- Experience in supervising a team
