General Description

Tyonek is performing operations and sustainment support for the Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations office. Tyonek is seeking a quality and ESH manager to work directly in support of this program.

Accountable for all technical documentation, processes, and procedures for their assigned program. The Quality and ESH manager will ensure formatting and compliance for all applicable documentation. They will serve as the program point of contact for all Quality & ESH activities, including training documentation, system deployment documentation, operational readiness documentation, technical data/documentation (i.e., technical manuals, training packages), monitoring & reporting, and overall documentation compliance. Programmatic support for proposals, cost management, schedule updates, risk management, action items, recurring IPT support.

ESH management involves the identification, evaluation, and control of hazards that may impact both human health and the environment, integrating principles from various disciplines, including industrial hygiene, public health, safety science, and environmental science. Work to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, develop and implement safety and environmental policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within organizations. Will maintain proper training & communication to keep compliance within the organization.

Duties

  • Main Point of Contact for all Quality & ESH activities, including provisioning support, process support, procedure support & Compliance.
  • Providing Quality & ESH support during the entire product life cycle
  • Understanding customer expectations and the needs of the program to support the Aerostat systems.
  • Developing Quality & ESH control processes.
  • Ensuring products are designed with adherence to legal and safety standards.
  • Monitoring and evaluating internal processes.
  • Evaluating the final output of products to determine their quality.
  • Rejecting products that fail quality standards.
  • Engaging with customers and gathering product feedback.
  • Producing statistical reports on quality standards.
  • Reporting to upper management on quality standard issues.
  • Evaluating product recalls and keeping records.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Improving efficiency and helping to measure results.
  • Create, manage, and update process & procedure documentations, including, technical data/documentation (i.e., technical manuals, training packages), reports, technical data lists.
  • Maintain the schedule of Quality & ESH events/milestones and coordinate concerns with other project events.
  • Participate in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, & Testability (RAMT) analyses
  • Support in the development of cost estimates/RFQs, cost evaluations, programmatic evaluations, risks management/assessment, development of program management requirements, and work statements.
  • Tailoring the Quality & ESH Supportability approach to best satisfy the customers requirements.
  • Identify and implement efficiency and improvements into Quality & ESH functions.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer issues, developing creative solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their technical challenges and requirements.
  • Manage field returns, analyzing root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support failure analysis on returned products, developing containment and prevention strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS Degree or currently enrolled; High school diploma or equivalent with at least 10+ years of task related experience and / or 10+ years of related experience, with at least 2 years specifically in military standards and specifications
  • Masters of Science degree is preferred.
  • The candidate should possess the knowledge and skills to support Quality & ESH issues on a government program.
  • ILS experience is preferred.
  • Aerostat program support experience is required.
  • Formal technical training or on the job training in DoD Acquisitions.
  • Aircraft maintenance/modification experience highly desirable.
  • Government Furnished Property management experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret statements of work (SOW)
  • Training & Communication for the Organization in relation to, but not limited to emergency evacuation procedures, correct equipment usage, and handling of hazardous substances.
  • Emergency Response root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Computer skills; specifically using MS Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Proficient in reading/interpreting manufacturing drawings, wiring schematics, and modification work orders (MWO)
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with external stakeholders such as customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping companies, etc.
  • Professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service, and follow-up.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Ability to lead and assist control account managers (CAMs) with the development and maintenance of schedules.
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to lead the team and/or work independently.
  • Government Provisioning Support Experience
  • Experience working with DoD.

  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • Normally works in an office setting with controlled temperature.
